A few days ago a buyer sent me payment. I do not want it. I wanted a check or money order. Tonight I sent a paypal payment to a seller for an item I won. You didn't take it from my credit card..you took it from the funds the other buyer sent me that I am trying to get her to cancel. PLEASE put the $8.75 back into her money. I DO NOT want it, and I never accepted it! Bill my credit card. I know I can have Paypal send me a check, but it would cost me $1.50..and I DO NOT want to pay $1.50!!!! Please respond to this email. I have written you on other subjects and have received no response. PUT THE $8.75 BACK INTO THE ACCOUNT SO THE WOMAN CAN CANCEL HER PAYMENT TO ME. TAKE the $8.75 out of my credit card...which is what I assumed you would do. How DARE you accept money for me when I gave you no authorization to do so!!! FIX this! I control my funds..not you!

Just another story in the never ending saga of how PAYPONZI makes money by theft deception and great customer service. Aren't you mad you ever started doing business with them. They treat you like the bankers of old, smile while their taking the farm.

I control my funds..not you!

That don't work with PAYPONZI.

I don't think the woman will see that her money is used. The only problem is that payments from a PayPal account (as opposed to a credit card) have next to no protection in case the seller doesn't deliver. You can refund the buyer of the item you sold (if you don't want to accept it via PayPal) with a credit card payment.

I'm not refunding anything. SHE sent money to me via Paypal...never asked me..just sent it. I look at it as unsolicited mail. If she wants her money back, she's going to have to take it up with paypal..she knows them better than I do, obviously.
I'm keeping the item untill I receive payment in the mail..just like my EOA stated...which she totally chose to ignore..along with all the other emails I've sent her.

I have had customers send me payment via PayPal when my Auctions clearly state no paypal, since my account is closed, I tell them to cancel the payment.

Annekila,

It would have been in your best interest to have refunded the PayPal payment the buyer sent you- you have 14 days to do so. Maybe you still can, I dont know. But another recent rule 'might' affect you- you have 7 days after payment to get the item shipped. If you dont, and you've accepted payment, the buyer could do a Buyers Complaint.

The reason 'they ' took the $8.75, is funds are always removed from balance first, then the other funding source is used. So- if you order something for $100.75 from your seller, the $8.75 would be taken, and then your payment option you selected would pick up the rest ($91.25).

And I hate to tell you this, but you DID accept the buyers payment for $8.75 the minute it said 'complete' in your history.Your buyer CANT cancel if it says complete. Only thing to do is refund.Your buyer has paid $8.75, and you arent sending the item- guess what they will do? You might go -$8.75 in your account, but you wouldnt be dealing with the buyer.

See if you can go to that transaction, see if the refund option is still available, if so, hit refund, the $ will go back to buyer, and you can then NPB her for not following the terms of your sale.

Also if youre not acceptiong credit card payments, go to the sell tab, and turn the option 'off' to accept them. Thats about all you can do.

I hope this makes sense. And all this statement will get you :

*If she wants her money back, she's going to have to take it up with paypal..she knows them better than I do, obviously.
I'm keeping the item untill I receive payment in the mail..just like my EOA stated*

Is a buyer filing a chargeback for non dlivery and youll be charged $10.00 on top of that because you cant provide shipping info. So either refund her (if you can) or bite the bullet and send her item and think about the feedback you will leave. Youre in a 'lose lose' situation.

Oh- another way to avoid the mess is to have your ebay (I am assuming you did ebay) email addy different than the one at PayPal- it gives you more control to pick and choose to accept cc if you have a Prenier or business account. That way a buyer cant look at your ebay email addy and blindly send a payment. Even works with personal accounts- the buyer wont know the address to send it to if your email addy is different.

If you have a Personal account, you have to use the logos that dont have the cc pics under them- it confuses buyers, and some will try to hold you to it.

You didnt mention if the payment was cc or not, but if you have a personal account, and do want to accept cc payments, there are logos you can use that have the PP button and nothing else.

Good luck!

Hi Pez. I was never given a chance to "accept" or "deny"..there was no option. (I DO blame paypal for THIS little glitch). The transaction just had "completed" next to it. I did send her the money back. I couldn't "refund" it, but I sent her a payment as if I were buying something HER. As yet, it is unclaimed. She emailed me a very curt message(her first and ONLY email in this whole mess) that she will send me a check in "2 or 3 days".
If she had READ my TOS in the auction description, it clearly states "money order, personal check, Bidpay". My EOA also stated those pay options. There is NOTHING on my auction page mentioning paypal. She also chose to ignore the fact that I require insurance.
She clearly chose not to abide by my terms. Therefore, I am not responsible for sending her ANYTHING.
AND...you're right. I DID take my seller ID off paypal. It had never entered my mind..untill now... that someone would actually send me paypal funds without asking me first...usually people ASK. NO way do I want paypal holding money for me. NO way will I give them a bank account number. I've heard too many horror stories.

annekila,

Cancel the unclaimed payment. If she has a personal account herself, and you paid with cc, she would have to upgrade to get it. Pay her using your bank info (I just read you hated giving it to them, but if you paid by cc, she cant accept it unless she upgrades if she has a personal acount.)- that way she will get a 'complete' without any choice. Go to the original transaction, hit refund, and as your funding source use the bank- sounds like you tried to refund using cc. Maybe when you prsent the arguemnet to PP though, they will see you did try to refund- who knows. But youre gonna have to reimburse the buyer in any case, as she/he has paid.

Hopefully, it hasnt been 14 days and you can still do it.....

As far as the 'glitch' - it isnt, unless the payment was from an unconfirmed user and your preferences arent set up to reject them. If a buyer sends you a valid payment, it will always be 'complete' unless it's an e-check.

I would also NPB her, and then file for FVF for not following TOS.

But as it stands, you have her $ and she has no time. Be very careful with this one- some people you can never please, and she sounds like one of them.

Good luck- and try emailing [email protected] and tell him youre trying to refund but the user wont accept it. Glad to hear you made some adjustments to your account- might avoid conflict in the future.

Hi Pez. The funds that went to refund her were mostly from the money she sent me....not a credit card. Only $8.75 was from my credit card. The other $21 was from the personal account of mine..that SHE sent the money to. I'm just sick of this whole thing. I'm the one jumping through hoops, and SHE is the one who got this monster sized ball rolling. That money can sit unclaimed for eternity for all I care. SHE can upgrade..why should I have to??? I did everything right...SHE chose to do things her way...ignoring my TOS..ignoring my EOA..ignoring all my emails. Ya know? I think I'm just going to close this whole account...who needs it!

Oh geeeez! Now I can't close my account because they will refund me all the money..minus the $1.50! Maybe I'll just close that credit card account.
