Today I received an e-mail proportedly from Paypal about a transaction that occurred on 2/18/2001, saying it was unclaimed.
I looked, saw it was an e-check, and claimed it. I assumed everything was ok, that I must have sent the person their item, and simply forgot to claim the e-check. Now I can't find any transaction with a person near that date, with a person with the same name.
I would hate to have accepted payment from someone and not sent their item. I wonder if it might be a non paying bidder, who paid with a typo, maybe a period, in my e-mail address, and all of a sudden it is now showing up?
On the Misc. board at eBay are posts from several other sellers who received similar e-mails. What gives? Should I not have accepted the payment? Was the person charged twice?
I don't want to spend this money, $44, only to have Paypal take it back from my bank account or etc.
By the way, I am also one of those sellers getting the threatening Paypal Preferred letters, threatening to remove my preferred status unless I list some auctions.
When I first signed up for the preferred program, I don't remember there being a requirement that yoiu list a certain number of auctions. All I remember is a requirement that if you do list auctions, you only offer Paypal as an online payment method, on the auction page.
Paypal seems to be good at changing the rules lately.

Did you also notice that being a "pal" as they want you to believe that after making interest on your money they charged you the new rate not the rate at the time the transaction was made.
