If I have to use my scroll wheel more than a couple of turns then I usually won't read it and I don't care who posted it.
I could really, kinda care less about the opinions of someone who doesn't post here being used to make a point by someone who does post here.
In my opinion it would be much better to post a link and maybe a brief explaination of what it contains.

I agree completely, Pi. I don't mind a link and a brief explanation either. But I don't like these long C & P's pushed at my eyeballs.
I'd much rather hear someone's own thoughts and ideas. I can read a newspaper anytime.

Shorter ones used to start conversations are fine with me. People that use a mass assortment of them to argue their point instead of doing it with their own thoughts and words annoy the hell out of me.
I've never understood that tactic. Either you have an opinion and can justify it or you don't. Why enter a coversation when your only contribution to it will be borrowing the opinions of others?

I read them sometimes. I try to scan them to get the gist of it. However, I usually stop reading a thread altogether if it ends up becoming "dueling C&Ps".

Well.....I think all those that post the copy and pastes should be FORCED to read the same from others. LOL 
Who I remember has posted long c & ps are:
mingo, for sure...sometimes even posting them MORE than once in the same thread...and posting the same article in different, unrelated threads too.
helen, of course from all her left wing loonie bins sites.

bear does to get a thread started or to prove something stated was not true.
I do....to make a point or prove something.
I think only a very few who have posted here in the past year could claim they DIDN'T post an article of some kind. All of different lengths, of course.
Now....will there be a lawsuit over this????
