I live in PA close to the MD/PA state line and Camp David in MD. Everytime the President stay's at Camp David there are security fighter jet's that circle during his stay for security. They pass over my house about every 12 minutes during his stay. Needless to say they are rather loud as they fly much much lower altitude's then commercial aircraft and if you watch them during the day they like to "hot dog it" if you catch my drift doing roll's and so on. I can live with the fighter jet's one or two day's every 2-3 weeks when he's staying at Camp David but he has been there all weekend, day 4 now and counting and the damn jet's are still cicrcling overhead and it's getting a little hard to sleep around here. Kind of makes me wish I had a stinger missle (just kidding) but please Mr. President GO HOME !!!!!!!! I would like to get some sleep before the new year arrives.

So sorry, Mike, but bush advocates torture and your pleas would fall on deaf ears even if he ever listened to your opinion....he doesn't, you're an average American and matter very little to him.
Now, if you care to doante a couple million to the RNC I'm sure the planes will be gone the next day

Sorry no sympathy here, his protection is far more important than you supposedly losing any sleep. After all this is not the first President to use Camp David and air patrols have been up before. But guess when wet willie was there you just overlooked that.

I can sympathize with you! I once lived near Cleveland Hopkins Int'l Airport. They changed the flight path and the planes were flying right over my apartment day and night. I swear it seemed like every 5-10 minutes. Since I lived about 2 miles from the airport, they were flying low! Everything in my apartment would rattle. I moved not too long after this started. The loss of sleep is enough to drive you mad. They have since changed the flight paths again.
At least you don't have this 365 days a year!

It's just a part of the wingnut's program to permit torture closer to home in order to destigmatize it...in this case, sleep deprivation.

Hi Mike - Sorry that your sleep is being interrupted while the President enjoys his Christmas holiday.....but after hearing how the terrorists were planning to kill him in the WH, I'm sure they've put even more emphasis on protecting him now, than they did before.
This too shall pass

Hope your holidays were enjoyable...and Happy New Year to you and yours too.

Mike, how long have you lived at your present home? Is this the first president who's had this security?
I'm asking because I'm sure you've really had it, if they did it for all Presidents?
But people here who live in the 'take off or landing' around Seatac airport, the Port installs new 'sound proof' windows to replace all your old ones, and they are supposed to reduce most all the plane noise. Been to some homes that have them, and they do. Wondering if they do that in your area?

To answer a few questions.
Yes, I have lived here a long time. My hole life in fact. Inherited the family farm after my parents passed away.
No, this was not standard procedure until shortly after 9-11. Had never heard the planes before that and my understanding is that the flight path of the security planes was much smaller back then.

I thought I gave the US enough sleep deprevation during the 8 years I served in the US Army .
Another point is that this president seems to spend more time at Camp David or his home ranch more than any other president before. Vacations seem to be the norm for him.
There is one upside to all this though. If you like to watch fighter planes in action I have a front row seat. About once a month or so some poor local piolet wanders into the "no fly zone" and is escorted off by the fighter plane to a local airport in Gettysburg, PA. Even saw them chase a helicopter off once. Rather interesting to watch a fully loaded fighter jet of that size flying circles around a little chopper. I'm sure that guy needed some new seat covers

Yes, this president spent 46% of his first 6 months in office on vacation....relaxing and ignoring warnings of an attack on America.

Mike - I know you did....[already paid your personal dues]....
...and I did almost respond to NTS about betting it is going on even more so than it did under clinton as we are at war...have been attacked...and have found out the terrorists were planning on murdering our President. No surprise there'd be more security now.
Sorry you have to loose sleep over it though.

Vacations just like all our Congress gets to enjoy. Most of his are working 'vacations' though. Presidents are never completely free from their responsibilities.....their job.
edited to add:
A suggestion???? Maybe ear plugs would work to help you sleep.....they do help keep out the loudness when used on the firing range.

It must be nice to have a job with 4 months of vacation during the year.
It is no wonder why we were attacked in the first place.
