Tried searching, but can't find anything on the current 'tallys' on this recall thing.

Anyone have anything on either who's ahead, or is it a no on this recall?

Thanks replay , we're on the same time zone Just thought they may have some 'ticker' thing on your local TV

LOL, Mikey just got interviewed by our local news channel in downtown Seattle about your CA recall election.

Now I have to watch and see this, because I guess they are putting him on TV LOL! They asked him enough questions for it!

NTS - A STAR in your immediate family....
Let us know if he looked 10#s heavier on TV than in person. They've always claimed that. I'd like to know if it's true.

Hope you have your VHS ready to tape Mike when he comes on. What a kick.

If this is close, we probably won't know the results for a few days as all the absentee ballots need to be counted.

I'm just hoping I can find what time that news comes on! LOL!

Seriously.... I think they picked him, he wears a tie and all everyday... probably the last of the few that do this in an office enviornment anymore

And it was like the last thing on his mind, too, when he called, he was talking about another meeting with Starbucks today, and then he said, oh yeah, they interviewed me on TV today about the CA recall, like I really care, I live in WA! LOL!

I am getting all excited about this recall business! What a concept!

We can recall a governor so why not a president???

Bush is next!!!

Helen

And that governor has been in office less than one year. What's taking so long with Bush?????

He was re-elected almost a year ago.

Well....you'll have to find a worth opponent that can beat him in 2004. [ edited by Linda_K on Oct 7, 2003 03:31 PM ]

There is certainly an overwhelming dissatisfaction with Bush's job performance!

Maybe we won't have to wait until 2004!

After the Presidential election fiascos it's pretty much now agreed upon by most news sources that they will not start releasing numbers until the polls close at 8pm.

Cheryl, I think, not sure that Davis was into his first year of his second term, so he's been in for 5 years, maybe more? I don't know.

Thanks fenix, it will be interesting to see what does happen.

Another thing I heard. Ok there is a choice, NO on recall (keeping Davis in as present and acting Gov.) or Yes on recall, then voting. Well, he is also on the list of candidates, and if you think about it, then this doesn't sound right. He's FIGHTING the recall (of course) but he's also RUNNING too, which gives him another chance (ah looks like a very slim chance) to win????
That makes no sense at all.

NearTheSea:

I don't think that sounds correct.

I'm not a Californian, so didn't vote today. But my understanding was that Davis was NOT a candidate. The recall election is one "page 1" and the various candidates were on "page 2."

Wasn't his slogan "No on Recall, Yes on Bustamonte"?

Meaning he would prefer to not be recalled, but if the recall went through to vote for the Vice-Governor.

I don't think it's possible to recall Davis in the first part of the vote and then elect him again in the second part.

Bush is spending money at a rate that cannot be sustained for years and years and years! The country, like the state of California is going to be bankrupt.

Now is the time to recall Bush!!!

Well, this I can say: Right now at $50+ million, the city of Cleveland is facing the largest deficit in its history. (Let's see anyone blame that one on Dennis.) Most of that can be contributed to the state of Ohio's huge deficit woes. California does not stand alone. Both state and federal monies are gone (and then some). Someone drained the federal government and states of all the money. Certainly cannot blame it on every governor in every state. Hmmm, wonder who's real cause of all this mess. . . .

Replay, your most likely right. I tried searching for CA Candidates for Governor and came up with bit and pieces, not a whole list. (the biggest being the 'deck of cards' one! LOL)

Someone had told me that today, but wasn't sure if it was true.

Oh I did find one (of 100?) a 'known terrorist'????????? not sure if that was a joke or what.

How much money did you get? It will be interesting to know what your price is.
Mine rebate was three hundred dollars-
I would rather have had some medical help for my children or maybe myself, three hundred dollars doesn't go too far with doctors. And that's only for regular stuff- school checkups and such.
Sorry, Twelvepole, that tax rebate was a classic "bread and circus" tactic. Keep the masses fed, (rebate) and keep them amused (a nice war) and they will not outright revolt. If that stupid rebate bought your loyalty, you come mighty cheap.
