When I took accounting and math, when rounding up and down, anything 5 and above rounded up, anything below 5 you round down.

My DSRs in dashboard:

4.96 description
4.95 communication
4.94 shipping time (1 low DSR - unsure why)
4.99 shipping fees

When I scroll over my DSRs that buyers can see, all of them show 4.9.

As far as I am concerned (and mathematicians and accountants would agree) I should be:

5.0
5.0
4.9
5.0

They're not rounding, they're truncating. I'm sure (well, reasonably certain) their excuse would be that anything less than a solid 5 is not deserving of that mark of perfection. Still, very impressive numbers.

absolutely... but do you if eBay apparently, eBay rounds up and down properly if a seller is running a sale on their items. I'm just pointing out that a bit of consistency would be nice.

Shag I have wondered the same thing. Spent 10 yrs in finance and you are correct anything 5 and above gets rounded up, anything below 5 you round down.

Shag I have wondered the same thing. Spent 10 yrs in finance. Banks round up 5 and above, below 5 you round down.

Another glowing example of eBay making the rules up as they go along and stacking the deck in their favor.

Good point hwa.

The way I see it, it should either be show us the 2 decimal points (1/100th) or round it up and down properly.

It may seem insignificant to eBay, but the actual statistics do matter. I have seen plenty of sellers who also have more than their fair share of negatives on their account with low DSRs and they are still TRS.

This is really weird. Like I said, I am not going to obsess over these scores since I will not be getting my 20% in the future, but I was bored, so on my ID without a store, here is what I got.

My scores:
4.96, 5.00, 4.97, 4.95 (the top score for description is the only one with a 1 or 2 from someone that could not read & apologized & tried to correct it, but Ebay would not let her)

Scores that buyers can see:
5.0, 5.0, 4.9, 4.9

Now, does this make sense??? My score for description is the lowest on my DSRs, but shows as 5.0 for buyers!! Scratching my head!!

OK, still bored, so more research:

Other ID:

My scores:

4.97, 4.97, 4.98, 4.93

Buyers see:

5.0, 5.0, 5.0, 4.9

Maybe it has something to do with the # of FBs.

Also, I do not think most buyers know how to see detailed scores, or care.
