This is a small footed dish; would you call the silver "silver chasing"? Any clue as to maker? It's from a mid-century collection.

Hi all,

It's called silver overlay. The poppy pattern is the same as one my Mom has.

Sorry, I don't know the manufacturer.

Lucy

Edited to add, it might be Cambridge...
Editing again... Take a look at eBay 290105333609.

You pals are THE GREATEST. I know something about a lot of things, but very little about the world of glass. Thank you very much.

Now to figure out how to take a decent photo of the dish. . . .

Neva's first picture is Cambridge, Caprice pattern. If I recall correctly, there was another company who bought blanks and applied the silver overlay.

Adele - I just took a guess to see if Repl. had it. I have a few pieces of silver overlay and now I know how to identify the pattern. They are great for ID purposes

Yes, now that I look more closely at Neva's second picture, I see the shell-like design around the bottom. Cambridge Caprice, a favorite of mine. I like the clear pale blue.

Paloma: I'm *still* using my 9-year-old Sony Mavica 73. Don't know what I'll do when it dies! Love it. I may buy a spare to have around. . . .
