A friend of mine just started selling on eBay - she's selling off her husband's phonograph miscellany collection. She told me that she only received bids outside the US even though she listed on ebay.com. Further probing found that she used non-US accent marks in her decription - Pathé which wasn't found in searches for Pathe. If you want to be found by US and international buyers, you must include BOTH in your listings.

Not a problem for me - I could never figure how to switch on the non-US keyboard.

It takes a super-savvy French ebayer to know how to search for US goods without the accent - I still think the best bet is to include both.
Edited to add: eBay's improved search engine is messed up in punctuation marks. RR does not find R.R., etc.

Yes - thanks SO much - they're great - many listed already. I sent you a note with Paypal payment to reimburse your shipping - PayPal was acting flukey that day - perhaps it didn't go through, I'll double check. I sent it to your email address on April 18th - it is unclaimed. Oops, sorry if I sent it to the wrong address!

When selling to French, German or some non-Romance language markets I always take care to use the correct diacriticals and letters, just as my high school teachers taught me aeons ago. I also invite native language students to email me with corrections as a way of increasing interest in my listings. Got to know some nice people and customers that way
