Has this happened to anyone else? Every now and then, when I'm writing an eBay auction description in Vendio, I inadvertently hit a key which they totally loses the page I'm working on. It's nowhere to be found, and I have to go back and rewrite the whole danged thing. Does anyone have a clue as to which key I could be hitting to cause this to happen. Happened twice tonight and it was frustrating enough to make me swear LOUD.

So I'm not the only one that has found that mystery key from time to time. I really don't have a clue what it is I hit but I know the feeling. I sometimes think it has something to do with my hand rubbing on the notebook mouse pad, not sure though. What I do now if I am typing a long description is after every paragraph or so I highlight everything I have already typed and right click then copy it. Then keep typing until I get along a way's and do it again and again until done. If I should by accident hit the "bend me over mystery key" and erase my text all I have to do then is right click and then paste and it paste everything I have copied earlier in the description. It's not a direct answer to your question because I just don't know what it is I do either to make it happen, I just know this is one way of getting around it.

Yes Had it happen in past but now I use SMPro but on re-list have had it delete all my information when that happens though I go back to the item in closed list and just re-list and start all over. One thing I have found is if doing listings like from Vendio I will type up descriptions on notepad or Word save it the just copy and paste that to the form on the web. If I happen to hit that elusive key (WHICH I THINK is the ENTER key ) I still have my description in tact in a saved file I am copying and pasting from.
I learned a long time ago NEVER trust the web forms they loose your information a lot.
OH did you try to go back to your previous page to see if it was still there like the Back button in browser? sometimes it will be there but I find yes it has gone to never land.

Well, I'm relieved that I'm not the only one! When first using Vendio, I used to write everything in wordperfect and then copy and paste the description, but most of the time I found that a bit cumbersome.
This problem doesn't happen often, or I'd still be doing that! It has been a mystery, though, for a long time.

I have had it happen a lot lately, makes me want to just list from E-Bay.

I agree with irked. Use Vendio's SMPro system. I don't use the online system much these day's. I think if you try the SMPro offline system you will find it is a big time saver and much easier to use.

Mike and Irked: How exactly does SMPro work? How is it different from listing on the Vendio site directly? Is there a charge for it?
I sell collectibles and books with never a duplication; would SMPro work for me under those circumstances or is it better when you have many duplicate items to sell?

Roadsmith - this has happened to me - don't know what key I pushed to make it happen (think I might have hit "Ctrl" and another key instead of "shift" - check to see if there is a "forwarrd" arrow on browser - I found I had just backpaged and the information was still there.

Neglus: Thanks. It's very possible I hit the "control" key with my right little finger, because usually it's something on that side of the keyboard that triggers this weird event. I'll look for the back arrow next time it happens.

Road, I like SMpro very well it is real easy to use do all my listings off line. I too sell things there is not much duplication. Just download it when you open it up just do a syncronization. that downloads latest categories, your preferences , etc store your ebay id in it?? or no it is vendio ID in it. (It is self explanitory when using first time)
This program has 4 tabs first one for description on it and cost place for calculated shipping information if used. second tab is for your template selection there is a default you can select along with counter default. Picking the category and countries you ship to if you want to change your default. Next tabs is Shipping and a tab on that for insurance etc. Last tab is preview tab and you can preview it in enlarged format if you like.
Everything is set up with a default of your choosing that you already have set at Vendio except the Description which has a html editor if you choose to use it for formating your description.
SO much easier than doing it on the site and waiting for pages to refresh or preview in the SMPro you can priview instantly almost with preview tab your default listing text shows up on this preview. Also has Ebay preview that gives you list of cost etc but I hardly ever ust that. Try it it is free and once you use it you will NOT want to use the Vendio or Ebay site again for doing your listings.
