I bet I am not the first one to receive one of these but this is the very first time that I have received one.

Remember all of those emails that we all receive from senders in south africa that offer to share money with us if we provide them with our info? etc etc. I actually received one in the mail today! Postmarked from Spain! They had my name on the envelope and not a close facsmile of it. The kicker on this is that I am divorced and have not used that name in many years. Oncea year I get some ad telling me that I am preapproved for some credit card with that name but very very infrequently.

Interesting, don't you think?

They're tenacious little buggers, aren't they?

I received a Nigerian spam/scam letter via snail mail about ten years ago.

The letter was two pages long. I remember that the scammer had beautiful handwriting and atrocious grammar. The paper itself was tissue thin and my kid wanted the stamps.

I'm not sure how they got my name and address either.

And I'm still waiting for my $3,000,000.00!

Most of those scams pre-date e-mail. Around 12 years ago one of my co-workers received a Nigerian scam letter telling her she had to GO TO NIGERIA to do whatever it was to collect the fortune that was waiting for her. Idiot started looking in to travel arrangements.

Really.
