One of my other ebay accounts got suspended due to a bad check written by my customer. I reported him to ebay and he claimed non re ceipt. That has been cleared up but I can't get back on ebay. I have called, emailed, done everything I can think of. I don't care about the other account but my primary account has a rating of 3122. Does anyone have any ideas how to get back on ebay?
Thanks,
Jack

Hi Jack,
I don't have it, but I know some of the posters here have the 800 numbers for Ebay.
I posted to bump this up.
Hopefully, someone will post them for you.
Good luck!

Thanks for the help. I've called the main number and the ebay stores number. Ebay stores was very nice and sympathetic but said they can't talk to trust and safety. I tried using live help and they said the same thing. This is killing me because I have all this inventory and no way to sell it. Does anyone have experience with Amazon auctions?
Thanks for any help.

Hi, I've done the steps that ebay gives you. I have appealed the suspension. I have had the person that filed the complaint resolve it so there are no open issues. I had one negative and that person has sent them the information that the problem was resolved to their satisfaction and I'm still not getting any answers. This all started on the 16th. I have people who made purchases and they can't pay. Others paid with a check and I put their information in ebay's sales manager for shipping. I can't get to that so I can only wait until they email me about where their items are. This really makes me look bad.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Ebya has a huge backlog on reinstating suspended members, you just have to be patient.
You can try AMZN and Yahoo auctions and see if it does any good.
also Overstock auction

I'm surprised that you don't make a copy of all checks and money orders received. I do. Otherwise how would I know later?
You don't have to print it on paper; just scan it to a file.

I'm a little confused. How does one's account get suspended because the BUYER's check bounced? I thought a seller got suspended for breaking "rules" or not paying their fees to eBay.
Could someone please clarify? TIA

The buyer reported him for not shipping the item - isn't that correct Jack? Can't believe it was just one reported item? Don't you have to have at least a few disputes before they slam you?

Electronics resellers are treated differently by Ebay and Paypal,it may be better now,but in the past,it goes like this-if you see one cockroach, then you figure there are more out there!
Paypal could lock up the seller account both ways,no more money coming in and no more money going out.
They figure most electronic resellers are dropshippers with no inventory,if he is having problem delievering one item,he probably have problem delivering, period.

Hi, to try and answer your questions, first the account that was suspended had a rating of 32. I was trying to sell only inkjet printers on that one to also let me list two of the same item at the same time. I have never had a non delivery complaint on either of my sites. The buyer's check bounced. I reported this to ebay. In retaliation he opened a dispute that the item was not delivered. I answered that complaint which then allowed him to close the dispute using option 2 which says he no longer wants to communicate with the seller. At that point ebay closed me down. My other negative was from a buyer who claimed non receipt, no dispute. I sent him the fed ex tracking number. He has since contacted ebay that he did in fact receive the item. I appreciate the suggestion for the contact. I'll try him. My frustration is that one guy with a rating of 7 who joined in March can shut down my main business that has been on ebay for 8 years with a rating of 3122.

So there are 2 accounts and 2 cockroaches!
How long does it take you to ship the goods after receiving the payments??

All of my product is in my possesion before I list it. We do no drop shipping. My average ship time is 2 or 3 days after receipt of payment, sometimes sooner. This is counterproductive if you are going to keep putting down what I sell. I would really appreciate suggestions on how to correct the issue with ebay, not how many cockroaches there are. Are you saying ebay doesn't like people who sell used electronics? If that is the case I really don't know what to do. I have had a lot of success with this and would like to continue to sell these items. Is there any one else out there other than the person who keeps mentioning cockroaches that has productive ideas? If not, thank you all for the help and I'll just keep trying to find someone at ebay who can help.

Hmmm - I filed a dispute on a DVD seller who did not deliver my $26 DVD,refund my $ or even answer emails and phone calls to his "Customer Service" number. He opened a Square Trade thing and then never responded to it. I am still out my money and the guy still is doing business as usual.
To my knowledge, disputes filed against sellers have no "teeth". The buyers are out after three strikes but has any one seen anything written about sellers?

you rite. keep looking for that voice at ebay...

BUTTTT, the devil is in the detail--i was curious if you had given all the info.
i mean, did you promise shipment before check clears?? how else does bounced check leading to no merchandse, give rise to suspension?
ebay allows us to ship AFTER pmt. clears.
-------------------------
but then, again, after reading you last thread, i guess you have volunteered all the info pertinent to the "offense."
--------------------------
so, a productive idea>>>spend an hour with your lawyer. if you got a legal defense then he will have the remedy.
and from sound of your business, it should be worth prompting some kind of answer out of ebay.....in my humble opin

I hold personal/business checks 7 days and state that in my auctions. I was never upset at the buyer, stuff happens, I was trying to file for my final value fee and he then filed a non shippment dispute and you know the rest. I don't see how an attorney can help because they are in California and I'm in Texas but thanks for the suggestion.

jack...miscommunications...
i wrote>>>"it should be worth prompting some kind of answer out of ebay"
i meant, if you have a defense to the action, then your lawyer would contact ebay...a letter would suffice to get their attention...maybe?

Jack, myoldtoy is correct. I was also going to post a smilar suggestion earlier.
Look, ebay has you tied up and virtually out of business. Not only is it difficult to sell, your business name is being harmed.
Go to an attorney and tell her your problem. If it is as you say, a letter should bring you ebay's attention immediately.

Bring along the ebay fax number, and the 800 number so that if desired, ebay can be contacted by phone. And, ebay's address.
Also bring all emails from, ebay, you, and your customers. Don't forget the retuned check and any other related payment information.

Have you tried 1-800-322-9266, 1-408-558-7400, 1-888-749-3229, 1-877-438-3229 (California only) and also The Auction Guild Inc (online). This guy named "Gus" used to work for ebay, not sure if he still does. He would get it worked out in a day. This is real old info, just thought I would try to help. Look up the website I mentioned. They will help. Good luck!

Thanks for the suggestion regarding the auction guild. I went to their site, tried the phone numbers and emailed Gus. That was two days ago. Any idea how long they take to respond? I haven't heard from than other than an email that they received mine.
Thanks,

If the person who wrote you the hot check lives in California, turn it over to a collection agency such as Mad. They can put it in small claims and recover the face value of the check plus triple the face value in damages. IOW, a $100.00 NSF becomes a $400.00 judgement for you. Even after deducting the collection agency fees, you will still come out ahead. All court costs and execution fees are payable by him.

I want to thank everyone for all the help. An update today is that ebay sent me a list of specific things I need to do to get reinstated. I have done that and faxed them all the information. I'm hoping that this indicates a light at the end of the tunnel and not just a train comming at me.
