I generally wouldn't waste the time writing a review unless I really hated the item.
I have to admit that the user reviews are the best thing about shopping on Amazon. Whenever I'm trying to make a decision between two widgets, I go to Amazon to see what the reviews say.
I don't see any real benefit in writing them, but I definitely am thankful that people DO write them.
That being said, I don't think I've ever read a review on eBay.
