JUST OUT OF CURIOSITY....DOES ANYONE HERE LIST ON EBAY AND AMAZON BOTH ?.......I'VE EXPERIMENTED IN THE PAST COUPLE MONTH'S WITH AMAZON AND BEEN QUITE PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS...........AMAZON TAKES OUT MORE MONEY ONCE THE ITEM IS SOLD, BUT AT LEAST YOU AVOID ALL THOSE UPFRONT LISTING FEES AT EBAY....I'M JUST WONDERING IF YOU STILL DON'T COME OUT AHEAD IF YOU CONSIDER EBAY'S LISTING FEE, FINAL VALUE FEE, AND PAYPAL FEE..........ANY THOUGHTS ?

Jay: I've started listing books on Amazon and sell more than I did on Ebay or Half.com (pulled everything off Half a couple of months ago). But it's slow. I don't have a lot of books listed, maybe 30 or 40 at most.

I've never considered listing anything other than books, movies, or music on Amazon. Can you give me an idea what you sell? ~Adele

A word of caution, take your money out every other day if possible. I did the mistake of letting amazon take my money out every 2 wks as there scheduled has it and was @#$% by amazon for 3 mths. They held my money over 3k for 4 mths before they finally released my funds to my account after my account was closed becasue of a couple or refunds and neg ratings.

SELLERS BEWARE!!!

There is good sales on amazon but there policy towards sellers needs LOTS of improvments.

There feedback ratings is WORSE than ebays and is geared strictly toward the buyers, and sellers have no recourse when left a bad rating. Get a couple of negs, give a couple of refunds and your account is marked to the point that you can not get your funds out until they say so.

I sold games during the holidays and did well until they pulled the plug on my account.

You must be referring to AMZN Marketplace where everyone has to accept one click payment and a whopping 15% commission plus 99 cents transaction fee(unless you have a promerchant account which is 39.99 a month, then your transaction fee is waived).
If you dont have a promerchant account, your listing expires in 60 days and you have to relist your items one by one, which is a BIG PAIN if you have more than a few listings.

Roadsmith........we sell a lot of videos and cd's........you're right, it seems as though Amazon would be the most beneficial for movies, books, or music........the big problem I have with ebay is the listing fees.(especially for low end items like books or vhs).....at 35 cents a pop, you can eat up a lot of fees quick.......it seems like people with higher end items get a better fee price break......I've never thought there was a level playing field on the listing fees or final value fees, but I suppose Ebay doesn't care as long as people keep listing in bulk........I know most people are going to have to re-evaluate the way they run their business on the net.
