I found a baggie full of my old girl scout badges ~ from late 70's/early 80's. Does anyone know anything about badges or suggest a site that I can find out what each badge represents?

I think my auctions would do better if I could list what the meaning of each badge is for.

Thanks in advance,

Helga (off work from 1 of the 2 jobs tonight and almost being stunned with having time off...)

I was in scouts early to mid 70's and a leader in the mid 80's. If you post some pics I might remember some of them.

I don't know if this shows "vintage" badges but here is a site with junior badges:

Helga,

Try finding a Girl Scout Handbook from the late 70's or early 80's. I was in Girl Scouts in the early 80's and found the handbook I used then on Ebay. It gives the picture and meaning/description. You can also try some used book stores. There's one here locally that seems to have quite a few Girl Scout Handbooks so maybe other used stores will as well.

I was in the scouts in the 1960's. Wonder if my mother still has my uniform and badges. I was a Blue Bird before that. I know my mother does still have that uniform. I remember loving it.

Helga,

This is the book that I have and it is dated 1980. I don't know how to link this but if someone who knows how to do can do it for me that would be great.

Here's the link:

Why don't you try this area of eBay?

Collectibles > Historical Memorabilia > Fraternal Groups > Girl Scouts, Girl Guides > Badges, Patches

While you may not find your particular, badges, patches, or pins you'll at least find the correct words and phrases for listing them. Make sure you list the words on the patch in the title line. I have sold about forty Boy Scout patches and have done quite well using this method.

I dont know if it would be worth it for me to sell them each individually. I've looked at some of the auctions on eBay and the lots of them dont do really well. Maybe I should try them by themselves.

I'll have to keep looking into it. Thanks for the links everyone!
