Does anyone have any details on Wood and Sons pattern called Westmorland? I have 6 cups and saucers, but can find no information anywhere, date of manufacture, rough value etc. I would appreciate any help.

Here's some links that may help...

Thanks, I had checked out both of those sites, and a couple of dozen others, but no Westmorland pattern.

I have just gone through my cross index of china pattern names. The only "Westmoreland" listed is by Royal Doulton. There are over 50,000 patterns in this book. Also, the Replacements Supplier Index has nothing on "Westmoreland" by Wood & Son.

Suggest posting a pic of the backstamp.

Here are the pictures. As you see, Westmorland is spelled without an "e" in it, that might make a difference. I just can't find this pattern anywhere.

It looks like something from the 70's. This is the closest I could find.

They added the "acid and detergent proof" to the marks after 1960.

Thanks Kiara, you are right, the backstamps are almost identical. Obviously not a real popular pattern! It must have been made in more than one color.

Would I be in order to call this pattern "rare" or would it be better to say "hard to find"? I have been looking on eBay for the last month, and the teapot is the first one that has appeared.
