About two months ago I sold a large widget. I dropped off this and six other widgets at unofficial but often used UPS pick-up location. After about 2 weeks later when nothing was arriving and the tracking numbers were not showing up there came a realization that an employee of location was taking the packages. The owner paid replacement costs, Items were reshipped. Large widget... well it was on back order. Finally large widget arrives, I repackage, I drop the package off at my neighbors shop because UPS hates me and will not pick-up or deliver (different stupid story). I dropped the package and two others of in the evening for a morning pick-up. That morning the cleaning crew comes in to redo the floors and moves the packages to the store room. Of course I and friend don't see the packages where we know they were and so assume UPS has picked up. LArge Widget owner writes - I track and .....no no no, this is not happening again!... NO pick-up. I takes two days and numerous phonecalls but we find the packages in the store room, I personally witness the pick-up, breath sigh of relief, email widget buyer and take a deep relaxing breath.
Now, indisputable proof of cursed widget... today as I am listing more items, trying to figure out what to do with my DIE DIE DIE customer and watching Dorian steal the cursed diamond on OLTL, I get a call......from UPS.... Widget package has been folded spindled and generally mutiliated, widget is destroyed, widget is being returned.... here is your claim number.
Luckily widget buyer has amazing sense of humor and irony as well and agrees widget is cursed and agrees to accept refund and to part ways before new and more nefarious fate befalls us both.

And why again do I hate UPS with a white-hot intensity that at times must be visible from the International Space Station?
Ah, yes, I remember now.
Thank heavens you have a cool bidder. I have generally been pretty lucky in that regard ... but don't downplay the impact that your own reputation has on his willingess to be cool! It's easier to place trust in the trustworthy.

Yes indeed, you have a bad case of "cursed widgets". The good part of this is that I will be happy to purchase your widgets and have them drop shipped to someone in NEW JERSEY that deserves a case of "cursed widgets"

LOL Green - This particular widget was filled with liquid. I have a feeling I will be receiving an empty widget in a very sticky box : )

I always wonder why I have to provide UPS with a very exacting description of what's inside the box, or otherwise they will open it.
WHY do I always feel like I am providing them with a shopping list???

UPS sucks, Brand new boxes are flat at the end of their journey. then they do not want to pay, saying packaging was bad??? answer to them; do i have to send it in a titanium box??? i believe i was up to five seperate occasions before i said f#@$ it and changed to AIRBORNE. The best move i made.

Ups has a LIMIT to how many claims are filed. 5 is the magic number. Then they deny claims. Excuses come. last one for me was, shipped in USED box. Claim denied. What a joke. I wonder if there is a time frame. I was new at this never realized the football they turn your stuff into. Got one back once. The box was,,,,,ha, pretty beat up to say the least.

I haven't had UPS deny a claim yet - of course now that I put that in writing my days are probably numbered. I ship about 15 packages a week through them and make claims about once every 2 weeks. Have gone way over the magic number of 5. Twice already they have called me saying the "found an empty box with my name on it". They wanted to reimburse me for the contents. I package pretty well and both items were large - I can't figure out where they go. One was an exercise step - about 3 feet long. How can that just "fall out of the box" and no one notices it?

It sounds to me like you are too lazy to make
sure that your packages get out in a timely
manner via a proper drop-off. I'm sure your
buyer's feel the same way.

And you appear to to be an overtly judgemental jerk that that enjoys making knee jerk negative comments regarding things they know nothing about.

And you keep using them? I ship at least 20 to 30 packages each week by Fedex Ground and haven't had to file a claim in 6 month. I also ship about the same amount by USPS and never had to file a claim with them.

I never looked in Fedex because there's not a drop off point near me - I assume they pick up, but I'm not sure. UPS is just so easy with claims - I call them, they fax me the next day, I fax it back and I have my check within a week. I have a claim with USPS that's outstanding yet from January. It was for $4.00 and the buyer wanted to handle the claim. I've filled out paperwork twice and sent it to Alabama and both times they've lost it - they even admit to me that they remember getting the envelope, but they can't find it. Now they say they won't do the claim without the green slip (which of course I already mailed them). They keep calling me asking me to send them the green slip and I keep telling them I already did - all for $4.00!
