I am taking the whole summer off from selling. When my current listings end, that is it for the rest of the summer.

I know of six other sellers in my categories with the same plans.

If you are a Power Seller, you can request that your status be placed on hold for review, and give a date of return. That way the time away from listing is not counted when sales volume is reviewed.

Sellers who are diversified and have sales income, or other income, from other sources have more flexibility in taking the summer off.

I am going to devote the summer to high end inventory acquisition that will generate me higher profits from the antique buyers during the winter season. I am going to change my mix of inventory, expand out to a few other profitable areas. In preparation I spent the last six months acquiring some significant out-of-print reference books to expand my knowledge base in the new areas.

I will change the focus of my business on eBay to items that sell for over $100 only and decrease the number of my listings. Increased eBay fees and increased postal rates will not make it profitable for me to sell the $25 to $50 items anymore. I've been selling on eBay since 1998, and I have over a 95% sell rate on my auctions. I am confident that I can change my focus with fewer auctions and still have the same high sell rate, gaining me higher profits with fewer listings. Additionally, competitors will not be able to copy my techniques or sell the same things. The time I gain by having fewer listings can be spent increasing the income flow in other areas of my business and life.

Who else will not be selling this summer, for whatever reasons? I am curious.

I haven't listed anything for 2 weeks, but miss it so bad I will probably put on a few postcards to end on Sunday. I always save my best stuff for fall and winter though, just never seem to get the looks and bids in the summer months. Too bad, as this is a big part of my entertainment!

I'm taking at least half the summer off, part of it for just needing a nice vacation, but I have been looking to acquire stuff for ebay too. I'll be traveling a lot on my vacation, at least 3000 miles, so I will try to find some thing that I don't get to in my local area. Ebay is part time for me, I also do internet consulting, and while I will be away from my home office, I stil will be quite busy even during my time off with that.

I have so much to list I can't take the summer off. I would like to sell everything I have and take the rest of my life off. I have collected for a long time and then my mother passed away and left quite a bit and it is just gathering dust. I am hoping that I can sell it and let the dust collect at the buyers house. I started collecting Jewlery and now with drawers overflowing it needs to be sold. Scarfs well over 500, but who's counting, and then the rest of my junque I will be sitting at this computer for years... It's good to see new buyers around, I have had many and all were quick to pay, I had no dead beats.

I'm also wondering about listing in the summer. I have some antique clock that I would like to list. I don't want to give them away, so I will very likely set a reserve on them. If they don't sell, I will relist them once more, then hold them for the fall.

Might not be summer yet but deadbeats are up and sales are down.

I'm quitting for the summer save for the season-specific stuff (bikes and fishing).

Now is the time to buy in order to RE-BAY in the fall or winter.

I haven't listed since mid May and won't start listing again until Mid July partly because bids are down and partly because I'll be on vacation for two weeks at the end of June.

I think I will spend the summer getting auctions ready to run. That way, come the week after Thanksgiving, I will have 500 auctions ready to run... All going into the BIG xmas season... However, I am going to continue to post my actions until the die back starts...

Summer is usually our best season for sales so we will be listing full steam ahead.

Finer Fashions on Ebay, top designers, latest styles.

My sales were dropping low within the last month and then Ebay suspended me for selling 2 infringed items. I decided to wait after vacation in end of July to apply for reinstatement to get ready for the fall and winter. I sure miss the money coming in though.
