While surfing through eBay I noticed 2 power sellers. One had a feedback ratio of 202 and has been selling since 1998 and another a feedback of 404 and has been selling since 2000. I was under the assumption that you had to do mega sales to get a power seller status. One seller in the past 6 months has had only 57 auctions, the other not many more. Just asking. Thanks

This is what the about me page read.

"We started our business here on ebay in 1999. Today we have reached a status of Powersellers due to our excellent service and great prices. Please visit our website at----"

Ebay determines Power Sellers by the dollar volume, not the number of auctions. The entry level is, I believe, $2,000 a month for three months. (You can check out the various Power Seller requirements on ebay itself.)

Of course, many will tell you that it doesn't really mean anything, and about the only benefit you get is a special email address for support. Gold Power Sellers get a phone number too I believe.

I got to be one the old fashioned way, by having lots of successful $15 and $20 auctions.

The Power Seller program could be something special. Yet ebay's promotion people lack much creativity. They blunder and stumble around, pretending to be working for their pay. They should be talking to us about creating collaborative traffic building programs we could all benefit from.
