I had a VERY high price auction close earlier this evening and the user has a Hotmail account that keeps getting returned to me saying "account unknown". I have heard alot of stories about people bidding with hotmail accounts and then dumping them.

The user has 9 positives but has not won anything in 14 months!
Is Hotmail possibly down or am I just being panicky?

What to do.....?

Who knows, let ebay try to contact them, and a little suspension might wake them up.

I would give it a couple of days to see if this person contacts you. It's a good chance that they have not updated their e-mail with ebay. I have many bidders that way. And not just with hotmail. You will find that you will have many more that had AOL accounts that don't update with ebay. Usually after a couple of days, these people realize that they won the auction and will get a hold of you.
Give it the usual 7 days before filing a NPB and another 10 for the FVF though. If they want the item, they will contact you by then.
Good luck,
bp

Hotmail deletes accounts if you don't log into them for 30 days. Call the bidder.
