I had an auction end on August 10th. On August 16th I received her payment and shipped it out. Never heard from the buyer again....

Until! Today. I just checked my feedback and she left me a neutral feedback stating "fast shipping, nice item, but item was larger than expected".

My auction clearly stated every measurement for this item. There was NO excuse for it to be too large when the measurements were right there in the auction description.

And then of course she never contacted me... just over 2 months later decided to leave me an unnecessary neutral feedback!

Nah, I wouldn't be upset. I'd realize that her feedback makes her sound a little weird.

Neutrals are "nada's" - they don't count for or against, and people really shouldn't get upset about 'em. In the "olden days," in fact, leaving yourself a neutral was the only way you could respond to a comment in your own feedback file - so most "oldies" have lots of neutrals.

Look at the bright side, it could have been a negative.

Similar thing happened to me!

Over 500 feedbacks, all positive, and I get a neutral that said something like, nice item, thanks. No warning! I emailed the person, and they said they didn't know what to say. Their feedback indicates *newbie*. You can respond to it if you like, as I did, "I always stand by my products, contact me if problem", something to that effect... see, for me it is all forgotten, so I don't have the specifics!

forhope, don't hate those stealth feedback leavers? Your buyer sounds like a newbie who didn't know enough to contact you about any dissatisfaction.

Some guy did that to me, left me a stealth neg (my only one!) without even contacting me. I wrote him back and told him I knew he was new to eBay, so probably wasn't aware that he should have emailed me with his concerns first.

He'd bought a jacket and said it cost him an extra $27 to be fixed. The jacket was my husband's, and we knew it was in perfect condition--plus we had it dry cleaned before sending it out. He never wrote back. I suspect it wasn't exactly his size and had some tailoring done on it ($27 worth???). All the measurements I made sure were in the ad.

I left a response:
"Buyer didn't contact me or give chance to address problem -item good when mailed"

Your neutral leaver may not know she is supposed to contact the buyer first if she has a problem with her purchase. She may turn into a stealth negger one of these days.

When I am thinking of buying from a seller with alot of feedbacks, I really don't read the feedbacks, but look to see if I can spot repeat buyers names in the feedback. A repeat customer give the best overall picture of who I might be dealing with.

Feedbacks are only worth who writes them. This is not a perfect world, if you know that you did all that you could, but never mind, two months went by. You should just let it go by.

Well, I wrote the buyer last night explaining that this isn't something you should really leave a Neutral for. (She's a newbie with less than 5 feedbacks). I told her she should have contacted me if she had a problem with the item, and she should have let me know months ago. I also told her my measurements were IN my auction description and she should have checked the measurements prior to bidding. I told her I was a little upset about the neutral on my perfect feedback profile and that now I have to live with that and it wasn't even my fault.

Wanna know her response?

get over it .. it was neutral and i had to resell the damn thing at a loss i could have said THAT instead btw your email address is now blocked from my account

I think THAT was just a bit uncalled for, don't ya think?

Edited to add: When she relisted it she didn't give ANY measurements in her description and her picture was AWFUL... so that explains why she had to sell it at a loss!

That's what hotmail (or other free email services) accounts are good for...sending email to people who have "blocked your email". Not that i'm advocating this, but for those who really need to send another email to someone, it can work nicely. Let them block that one too..there are plenty more where the first one came from!
