I registered just the other week with eBay Billpoint as a seller, to accept Electronic Checks.
I've sent out 7 invoices through Billpoint to bidders who requested them, but only 2 have gone through -- all 5 of the other bidders ran into some kind of difficulty or another with Billpoint, and decided to send payment either by snail mail, or via something else such as BidPay.
Just wondering if anyone else is finding that their bidders have difficulty is using, registering or accessing Billpoint? I don't know exactly what the problems these 5 people had were, just that they could not complete the payment by using Billpoint, and have sent them by other methods.

I've had 25 people pay via Billpoint so far.
Out of that, 2 people had problems paying when the Billpoint server crashed a few weeks back. Other than that, no problems. When I made a stink with Billpoint I had 2 different reps phone me 3 times in a 24 hr period. They also phoned my customers & walked them through a quick fix to the payment problem.

Now that's impressive! Must give them a try.

Yes, Billpoint is difficult for bidders! I've had some successful transactions, and I've had others (maybe 25%) where bidders just give up using it & pay the old fashioned method instead.
I won't say the P word, but at least they are much easier to use!!! No problems like this there!!
Ebay, Billpoint, if you are reading this, HEADS UP! Good candidate for process improvement....

I found that itdoes not work through some corporate firewalls, does not work with all browsers, and does not work if you have taken some other security precautions ... checks are easier.

I have had probably over 200 auctions paid with Billpoint.Very few with problems.
When there have been problems its mainly been for 1 of 2 reasons mostly ebaY fault.
If ebaY is down at some point then Billpoint goes down with it as one is connected to the other.
The other reason is if ebaY makes a change to their site without letting Billpoint know of these changes then Billpoint does not work till it is brought back up too speed.
Otherwise its a good system and quite easy to use and I preffer it too Paypal anyday.

BILLPOINT
I signed up when eBay brought it on board, mainly to get the free auctions which they USE to offer to those who offered BillPoint.
In the last number of months since its inception, I have had 2 people use it! ALL of my other customers opted to use PayPal.
As a seller I quickly found BillPoint, a pain in the derrière to use as I don't want to be bothered having to go on to eBay & BillPoint and have to send one of their stupid invoices.
I had an out of the US customer and could never get the invoice to function, probably because of the unusual shipping costs.
I still "have" BillPoint, but removed the icon from my auctions, and only feature PAYPAL, AND YAHOO'S PAYDIRECT, along with the option to directly charge through us.
In fact if we have a customer who asks to use BillPoint we strongly try to discourage the use, and encourage them to use PayPal.
Neither PAYPAL OR PAYDIRECT require me to have to go into their system and send an invoice as BillPoint does. When one has lots of auctions closing day in and day out, that extra step to send an invoice via BillPoint is just too much of a hassle.
We have our on invoice format which I much prefer and feel ours give the buyer all the information they need and the choices of how to pay. I wouldn't consider sending an invoice from ANY one service and trying to force payment through that system, and that is what sending a BillPoint invoice does.
NO THANKS - I want happy customers, so I give them a choice of payment methods.
