Uh, I call gettimg my teeth cleaned every six months preventative maintenance.

If the same holds true with this inexcusable outage last night then they knew they were going to have to bring the site down.

Why not at midnight or later? Was the site going to crash within the next 2 minutes if they didn't? That's what I'd like to know.

If a "crash" was not imminent(spelling?), then I'm really really mad as he**!! If it was then fine, but it still really stinks!

I really really wish there was something I could do that would make a difference. Any ideas? I'm game, I think!

The answer is, of course, that they didn't think it was going to bring the whole system down" - "didn't think" being the operative phrase.

Maybe in some sort of cost-cutting move, Paypal has been hired to write ebay's "oops" messages.
