Has the mail between the US and Canada just really slowed or has it actually stopped?
I'm awaiting almost all my payments from two weeks to 2.5 weeks ago. Nothing in less than 10 days lately.
Canucks, how are the rest of you finding it? (yea, I know: "by looking in the mailbox" )

Yo Bill, same here? Some of it is arriving in 4-5 days [like usual] and others are taking 2+ weeks to arrive? I have a buyer who is concerned because her check for $700 still hasn't arrived. It was mailed on Oct 2nd from CA.

Is Canada still there?
I'd thought you'd moved.

Been pretty slow getting here from there for me as well. Glad to know it's country wide.

I knew it wasn't Canada Post. Household bills are arriving just a fast as always.

Well, I certainly hope it hasn't stopped! I sent out an International Express envelope last Friday to BC. It took 1 day for the piece to show up in the tracking and that was only to say it had been received by the local post office. It took another 24 hours for the next tracking info to show up. It certainly strikes confidence into my heart...
"Your item left the United States at 7:46 pm on October 14."
Now, this was a money order for $800. I hope the piece didn't decide to leave the country and head for the Bahamas. There has been no activity scan-wise since it went on vacation. The seller hasn't reported that it arrived yet. I'm not overly pleased that their tracking just says they took it and threw it across the border.
I was chuckling when I brought up a shipping rate comparison at iship for using the postal service. International Express would theoretically get it there within 2 to 3 days. To send it ground rate, on the other hand, showed an estimate of November 23rd for it to arrive. Yikes!

The post Offices in my area are shortening hours and letting people go. I think that someone in USPS management finally has decided to apply the Harvard business school method of cutting an arbitrary amount of their workforce to cut costs without any thoughtful analysis of what those people did or have hard it will be to replace their efforts for the remaining workers. Indeed if it is even POSSIBLE to do so. Eastman Kodak did that with their people about 2 years a go
and found they had let someone go who was the only person who could do some of their optical work having invented the methods and designed the machines himself. They ended up rehiring him as a consultant at $300k/yr in order to fulfill some of their government contracts.

This slowness is a repeat of last October. I don't know the reason. I just recall that last October I was amazed at the number of payments which took up to 3 weeks to reach me here in Canada. The situation improved about the second week of November.

The postal service's tracking finally updated (nearly 2 days later) on my International Express envelope.
Apparently my mailing was out drinking with the guys at customs until 3 in the morning.
"Your item cleared customs at 3:04 am on October 16 and is on its way to the post office for delivery"
I hope it wasn't the designated driver.

...I got mail...
After receiving only 1 US payment in over two weeks I was inundated today. Got payment from almost all my auctions ending from late Sept to Oct 13.
Here's hoping the USPS troubles are over.
