A man won one of my auctions and even though the auction said U.S. bidders only, he bid on it and won and wanted it shipped to Indonesia AND he wanted it shipped Fed Ex (which I don't do since I have no Fed Ex shipping point in my town) So I tell him I don't ship fed ex AND I don't ship internationally but if he wants me to get a shipping cost at the post office I will. He emails back for me to ship it to this address (he gives me a huge address) via Fed Ex and enclose a birthday card. (grrr...) I'm sure not Tiffany's - I don't do birthday cards but I take the only box I have that will fit this item and write this huge address on it and get ready to go to the post office to get a shipping cost and THEN he sends me another email with a DIFFERENT address to ship to (again, via Fed Ex)! I send him an email saying one line "I don't ship Fed Ex!" so he emails me again, this time wanting to know how many of the items I have and and to "tell him now" and then emails me AGAIN wanting to know my last name (why - I have NO idea and anyway, I had already given it to him!!) I am at a loss.... He is obviously not getting the point that I don't ship FedEx, I have no idea why he thinks I'd enclose a BIRTHDAY CARD for him and I really don't want to ship this to Indonesia. I am at my frustration limit with him and I am thinking he is just plain weird. Of course he has zero feedback... what should I do with him??!!

If he paid for the auction with anything other than cash I'd avoid him like the plague!
You don't mention how he paid, if he paid with a credit card you should be afriad, be very afraid.
the word Indonesia should send off a warning flag.

This one has "Bad News" written all over it. Sell to the second bidder at their high bid and send a polite but firm letter re: TOS to this guy.

He hasn't paid yet, he's waiting for me to get him a shipping cost except he doesn't seem to understand I don't ship Fed Ex.... He said he was going to pay w/ paypal which makes me think that HE is in the US and wanting me to ship this to some friend in Indonesia.... I am thinking about just ignoring his emails from now on. I have 240 positives, no neutrals or negatives so I guess I could just take the chance that he will neg me over this! I am VERY leery of the whole situation  ( WHY don't people read the terms of an auction before they bid!!??

LOL!! you guys are cracking me up!! Should I just tell him to forget it even though I already offered to get a shipping quote for him? I TRIED to be nice but he just doesn't "get" the whole Ebay thing!

Let me put it another way, in the religion of fraud, Indonesia would be Mecca, the Wailing Wall, the Vatican, etc. all rolled into one.

dman "bite me" is VeryModern for "I am done with your @@@ and will be filing a NPB warning and 10 days later, a FVF credit request and will not waste 2 more seconds of my time on you" (even if it is your birthday).

ok, here is the email that I just sent him:
Hi,
I am just not wanting to ship to Indonesia - I've heard about bad
experiences from other sellers shipping to Indonesia and this is why in my
auction I stated that I only ship to the United States. I am cancelling
this. In the future, you may want to read auctions carefully to see if
sellers are willing to sell internationally (I am not - and my auction did
say that, but you bid anyway) I am sorry if this is a dissapointment but I
just do not feel comfortable shipping outside the United States and many
other sellers on eBay feel the same way. I hope you can understand.
Does this sound ok?? I checked the other auctions that he's bidding on (he's won over $2000 in auctions in the past two weeks!!) and he's currently bidding on other auctions that the seller says they will only ship to the U.S.! Obviously he doesn't even look to see WHERE the seller ships to, he just BIDS! I'll probably get a neg. over this but at this point I don't even care! UGH!

I had the same thing, first I said would ship to s/he, but they demanded something, can't remember. Then I knew it was the beginning of the end. Emailed them and said "Sorry, I have to stick to my own rules and not ship anywhere but the US"
Just stick to your own rules. If he negs you you can always respond to a feedback. Just say, sorry only ship to US and this buyer was in Indonesia.

It seems you were writing a reply the same time I was.
If I were you would not be so wordy. Just say it very simply. Don't tell him Indonesia has a bad rep. Just say you made the mistake or say sorry and need to stick to your own selling rules to ship to US.
What do you think.

Leave out the part about Indonesia being a problem. The real problem is that the guy doesn't live in the US. Just stick to your terms and keep it simple
