Unless you characterize "reporting unpleasant facts" as "lying," I'm sorry, skyscout, you're off the mark. I'm hardly taking the FB out of context by considering as a whole what you've received and what you left. In all but 1 case the ONLY neg these bidders received was from you; and in every case you left your neg AFTER they complained about you. (The one bidder who has 2 negs - your "lunatic" from the Ozarks - only left you a neutral; his other neg is a seller who got NARU'd.)

I note that the negs you received complain of the same things: no/slow delivery, misrepresentation (apparently you have a bad camera) and rude emails. Your public response in every case is some version of "screw you" - which would lend credence to these bidders' complaints of rudeness.

My point in noting your FB at all is to suggest that, if a seller's giving the bird to his own bidders, it should be no surprise to find his attitude toward other sellers is even more hostile.

HARTQUILTS-The amazing thing is that you could get this out of 5 negative feedback comments. As for ones I've left, I've left 375 positive and perhaps 5 or 6 negative. I think you are simply a trouble maker. You obviously are just looking to make trouble on the board since you didn't Email me in person so I could tell you what I >really< think of you. I am not discussing this any more.

Sure, it's technically spam. But was it wrong? I think not.

Spam is like sex between an adult and a child.

It feels good to the adult.
The child doesn't always object.
It can be justified in a zillion ways.

But it is always vulgar, an offense to civilized society.

sg52 - You are disgusting. That comparison is inappropriate. Unlike what you discuss, spam doesn't really hurt anybody. Don't say it does, because it doesn't. Maybe they have to waste a second hitting the delete key. Maybe some tiny little bit of "badwidth" is taken up. Only an ignorant fool would make the comparison you have made. You should feel embarassed and ashamed.

skyscout -
You are wrong. Ask your ISP how much of their monthly expenses goes to the extra equipment and staff to handle spam.

Also, spammers are hurting your business as I type.

Spam DESTROYS online commerce because people are afraid to give out their email address at web sites. They don't want it to be sold to spammers. Your eBay sales would be higher if spam were not a threat to buyers.

Spam DESTROYS online commerce because non-spam emails are discarded by spam filters Don't say "just don't filter" ... I would get 50-200 spams a day without the filters and don't have time to "just hit delete".

skyscout, you were already on a formal warning before your comment "sg52 - you are disgusting". That is a direct insult and a violation of AuctionWatch.com's Community Guidelines.

WHAT SG52 SAID WAS Disgusting. Comparing a pedophile having sex with a child to spam Email is a disgusting thing. Linda, maybe you ought to research these things FIRST. Or are you a big child sex fanatic yourself?

I'm sorry but on first reading I just skimmed sg52's post and didn't read it as carefully as I should have.

sg52, I'm giving you a formal warning for breach of etiquette for your lewd comparison between spam and child molestation. There is NEVER any way the two could be compared.

codfish, rules of etiquette apply to AW staff and moderators in the same way as they do to any other member at AuctionWatch. I am issuing you a formal warning for rudeness and a direct insult in your comment, "Or are you a big child sex fanatic yourself?"

sg2, that disgusting analogy you made about pedophilia--it cannot be justified, and it is not vulgar, it's beyon that--it is immoral, sick, and evil--it's criminal. What were you thinking??? I'm stunned. It seems this thread just went down the drain.

Everyone,

I am locking this thread. It has become combative and unproductive.
