Sigh... my auctions have cobwebs and my finger is sore from hitting the "relist" feature on eBay. I'm very reluctant to go out and get more stuff to sell, since I'm not selling what I have. Is this normal, or did I just start selling at the wrong time of the year? First it was the Olympic excuse, and now baseball playoffs, the debates, and the new fall lineup on t.v. AAUUUGGGHHH

I have a few "golden oldies" hanging around also. What I've done in the past is take them off the market, so to speak, for a week or two. No need to relist immediately...if the same people are running searches, your stuff looks "stale" if they keep seeing it week after week.

The other thing I do is knock a dollar or two off the price (depending, of course, on what the price is to begin with...more for higher-priced merchandise). If all else fails and I've relisted three times, off it goes to Goodwill. No sense in wasting more time and mental energy on it.

If you think it might help, write a fresh new description. If the picture is marginal, redo that as well. Of course, this all depends on the quality of the goods. There's no sense in putting $20 worth of time into a $5 item, but if it might be a $50 item, it's worth fiddling with a few times.

I also Would recomend not relisting an item more then two times in a row take it down for about 10 to 20 days then make a newer ad for the item and ajust the price left or right or leave the price the same if its a easy ship item offer free shipping.

also never list all your eggs in a short ten or 20 day period, if you have limited inventory its best to introduce 1 or 2 item every other day this way something new shows up all month and you look fresh.

also make sure your start bids are as low as you can stand to go. bidding is starting to perking up this week on ebay at least for me
some of the items I am selling today were list one last month and couldnt get a bid this month many of these items have muliple bids now.

Another thing that seems to work well on item you can ship for like $1.25 to $3.20 is to run a win three in one week get free shipping.

one thing I can assure you is that not every peice you will list will sell as a new seller like me I list 10 and 1 to 4 will sell.

but to run like this and keep your listings fresh it takes a lot of inventory. right now I have enough inventory for about 1500 auctions or more by the time I list through this when my frist unsold item comes back to the top it will look new again, and I also have a good supply for more inventory at this time.

my advice if you plan on continueing to sell on ebay and or yahoo find a source for goods and just keep it comeing, by next week the mail order christmas sales will be in full swing if you have items that would make great gifts keep them up and they should sell
