Okay, I hear that paypal.com has their act together, and sign up my company with a business account.

26 days later, with a few transactions under our belt through paypal.com they restrict our account. They ask for 2 types of verfication.

I fax it.

Keep in mind that we went through ALL the other verifications, from the bank account, credit card, EIN number, etc.

They state that we need MORE verification. I guess a copy of our bank statement and utility bill was not enough, in addition to ALL the other forms of identification that have already been provided.

I respond that this is ridiculous to go through THIS much verification when we have not had a SINGLE bad transaction or questionable one. The FACT that we have provided MORE information that a B&M Bank requires and they are FDIC insured (not paypal)!

So here it is nearly a week later after that e-mail and paypal has not responded. Our account is still restricted and funds are being held. We did earn $.08 money market.

Now we have done nothing wrong, and have provided tons of information for their "verification". They no longer respond to any e-mails.

So our answer as a corporation is a legal dispute in the courts. Paypal.com is illegally holding money (a small amount, however it is NOT theirs) and has done so without sufficient reason. Their mistake is that we have the funds to take this further.

This is just a warning to all people considering paypal.com... DON'T.

PayPal needs to make interest on that money. So keeping it tied up will insure that they do. They already know they're going to lose you as a customer so they'll probably milk it for as long as they can. Once they start ignoring/deleting your emails, you might as well give up on settling it through them.

What is funny is that they have finally messed with the wrong people. Our CEO will not allow such actions, and very big on the "principle" of the thing. The corporation has plenty of backing and a lawfirm already for other needs, and now it will be used on paypal.com.

It was just a matter of time before paypal.com screwed with the wrong people.

IF SO,WHY ARE YOU USING PAYPAL??
paypal is meant for small sellers who cannot afford merchant account.
does your ceo have lunch with ENRON ceo??

I guess that is why paypal.com offers a business account. It must be for NON-business users.

First of all we DO have a merchant account, however in auctions many customers requested that we have a paypal.com for them to use their paypal.com. It is a matter of convenience for the customer not us. We also have a billpoint.com account (no problems with it) and propay.com. Like many other sellers we like to offer as MANY options for payment as possible.

The world hasn't come to an end with our paypal.com, as our auction customers can still pay by the other methods INCLUDING directly by credit card using our own merchant account.

We had many ebay customers ask if we took paypal.com so THOUGHT it was a good idea to open a paypal.com account for those customers.

Paypal is NOT just for small sellers and why do you assume that every corporation in America is the size of ENRON? There are SMALL corporations in America and a heck of a lot of them.

Oh, and for those wonder folks that say Damon is so helpful, he has totally ignored my e-mails for assistance. Not even a "sorry I can't help".

first enron is no longer a big corporation, unless you count the number of lawyers working on both sides.
second,i agree ,you can be a corporation and yet uses paypal because ebay bidders use paypal.it is kind of clumsy if they have to call or fax you their cc number.if they email you with their cc,the cc data could be hacked.
paypal spokesman damon cannot be on this board 24 hours a day,he could be in the bathroom somewhere or out xmas shopping.

I am not expecting him to read this board, I e-mailed him directly weeks ago, and several occasions all with ZERO response on his part. I couldn't care less if he reads these boards.

I also don't care about ENRON, we are nowhere near as large of ENRON and that has NOTHING to do with my post here. Regardless of whether YOU agree with our company using paypal.com for auction payments (imagine that! Using paypal for auction payments! What an original idea!) we chose to do so. Paypal chose to make it downright a pain in the butt and chose to hold money that does NOT belong to them in anyway whether it is an individual or a large corporation.

In some fashions this is leading into intent to defraud, by taking people's money and not delivering services or goods.

We are already preparing to take a complaint to the CA AG office. While this amount is small that they are holding, it is not the point. The point is that paypal.com restricted an account after we gave them 6 forms of verification. They are holding funds that do not belong to them. A bank or other federally regulated institution is not allowed to do so, so neither should paypal.

Damon's job is to come on these boards and try to make complaining ex-members look like they are stupid and can't understand PayPal's terms. No other reason. I haven't seen him help anyone here yet. Including myself.

Damon:

I have already e-mailed you 3 different times, and you have not responded. Is the fourth time a charm?

Hi yourdesigns,

I receive 100+ emails daily. I often forward off information to another department, so I do need to see:

a) if I received an email
b) to whom I forwarded the email to for resolution

Thank you.

I would like to join any class action lawsuit against PayPal. This company is conspicuous and shady. Please read my post: http://www.auctionwatch.com/mesg/read.html?num=10&thread=3337

YourDesign mentioned that his dispute is now with lawyers, and arurenusan mentioned that he would be interested to join class action proceedings.

I think it's the right way. Talk is cheap. My impression is that they don't really care about it. They let Damon fix it on the boards, and continue their ways.

The only thing that will really get on them, and help us to recover our money, is court action, or giving them realistic information that matters actually take the way to the courts.

I therefore want to ask anybody who has had any experience with involving attorneys in disputes with PayPal to come forward with such information.

I myself run the domain AboutPayPal.org, and the concept of that site is to inform on precisely this: court action against PayPal.

I will treat information confidential, if this is wished, and I can give publicity to anything that has proceeded to attorneys.

Please note that publicity can help in one's claims against PayPal.
