Alright, since there's no sign of this information having been posted here (unless I missed it buried in another thread somewhere)...
I heard on the radio this morning that there's a group, headed by a man I think they said is the former head of the Christian Coalition, who is working to try and remove members of the Florida Supreme Court who voted to uphold hand counts after the recent election.
Their basis for targeting judges is their votes on the handcounts, and also previous votes having to do with issues like whether a teenager has the right to privacy (not telling her parents) when she's considering abortion.
Regardless of your own personal views on either of those issues, does anyone else find that disturbing? To campaign for the removal of a judge because that judge's views don't match your own?

Happens all the time. People wanting to ban shows due to their beliefs, people doing campaigns to remove this person or that one. People shoving their beliefs down the throats of others. Nothing new.

Those Florida Supremes have to get something like a vote of confidence every 6 years or so. It's not a lifetime appointment like the U.S. Supremes.
What I'm trying (clumsily) to say is, they can be voted out if the people aren't happy with their performance.

I think this supreme court was a pretty gutzy group. They have my admiration. They were doing their job. That is more than I can say for the US Supreme Ct. Justices have hard decisions. Truthfully I am tired of all of these outrageous groups that criticize or want to remove justice's just because they do not support their thinking....
