Hi Calamity and Rawbunzel!
Another one here who likes staying home on New Years Eve. We're actually getting snow today - I can't remember the last time I've seen snow. I sure don't know how to drive on it... so guess it's good that we're such homebodies.
Wishing everyone the best - the very, very best in 2001!

Stay Home if you can. I like to have you there to post to us for the next year.
We have a light rain falling here and I am thinking back in horror of the new years eve's I spent as an EMT.
Too many families who had to ring in the New Year with the phone call that no one wants to recieve.
Some of my friends from the old days used to party pretty heavy but stayed home on New Years Eve because they said it was "amateur night".
Too many people who don't know thier limit trying to make it home.
We are going to our friends house and staying there til morning. I like to ring in the New Year with people I love. It just seems right.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!
The New Year is allready over 10 hours new here Downunder.
We had a great night with family and friends. The kids have just come home safely after partying hard all night.
Today is special here in Oz. It is the birthday of Federation. One hundred years ago today was the birth of our country as a nation, when we finally moved from being colonies of the Crown and forged ourselves together into Nationhood. The Centenary will be celebrated all over the land.
Wherever you are, I wish you all the best for the coming year and hope that all your hopes and aspirations come to be.
Above all, I wish you peace and safety.
Enjoy!
Bob, Downunder but never down.

me thinks the year 2001 is NOT going to be a dull one.....
I've replaced 'happy' with 'safe'
believe me, it sounds better since the way things are going with this society....
so have a SAFE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
We spend every New Year's Eve at the home of old friends of ours. The same gang gets together every year; been doing this about 18 years now.
Usually we eat some great food, talk, and catch up on the latest news while all our kids play. Then, at 11:00, the kids put on a "talent show" for us old fogies. It is hysterical watching these kids dance, sing, or whatever they come up with. It gets better each year as they get older and more creative and they try to outdo each other.
At midnight, the kids (and some adults) grab pots and pans and spoons and run outside and make lots of noise. Luckily, the neighbors are very tolerant! Shortly after, we all drift toward the door and head home, very carefully.

NEW YEAR BLESSINGS TO EVERYONE
I'm going to take my son to an early movie, then stay in for the evening. We may go outside at midnight if we make it that late! At least it is safer in this neighborhood. At our last house, you had to stay in because of bullets and the law of gravity! My husband is on standby, so we couldn't go too far anyway.
bitsandbobs...Congratulations on your Centennial! I'm sure they have some great celebrations planned! The U.S. got the Statue of Liberty from France on our Centennial. Are you guys getting anything special?

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
My husband says the same thing,
Muriel, so he'll be in bed by 9:30.
I, on the other hand, am sure the new year will not start unless I'm up to witness it. Sure would hate to ruin it for the rest of the world by going to bed early.
Besides, someone has to give the cat and dog their new year's kisses.
Happy Federation Day, bitsandbobs!!

Happy New Year Everyone!
My kids are out tonight...I hate knowing they are on the roads. One has already called in asking for directions to a restaurant because they forgot to get a computer version. Glad we were here.
May your children be safe, next year's completed auctions be many and your deadbeats few!!!!!!!!!
