It has been snowing in Chicago since yesterday. That's bad enough, but the real problem is that my landlord is out of town, so I'm the designated shoveler for now. It's 9 A.M., I'm exhausted, everything hurts, and it's STILL snowing!!! Happy freakin' weekend!

I will refrain from telling you we expect 75 degrees today and throughout the weekend. We were at Sea World yesterday and needed sunscreen.
However, my family is all back East and NOT enjoying the first major snow in years! My Mother is finally able to use her snow blower she got for Christmas 1998!
Everyone out there take care and stay safe.

baileejean - Please be careful shoveling that snow. That job is tuff on the heart and age doesn't seem to be a factor.

Networker67...you can say that agin'!...I had to duct tape my husband (40+, overweight, prime heart attack victim) to his chair cause he "likes to shovel!"....AGH!!!
Have fun everyone.....Be careful!!

Muriel, count your blessings. My mom's in Buffalo NY. She said they'd got 96 inches between Thanksgiving and Christmas - 24" from 11/20-23 alone.

This is the first time in years that the winter wonderland of Michigan has had a good amount of snow. Over 36" fell within 2 weeks. The kids had a whole week off of school just before winter break. There are no shovels, snow blowers, sleds, winter boots, or snow suits left in any store in Genesee county.
Just like old times.
2 months and counting

Networker67,
Thanks, I seem to have made it through OK. Today wasn't so bad (a lovely gentleman who lives next door saw me out there last night at midnight shoveling away (I work nights), and this morning he had shoveled our front walk! All I had to do was the back path to the dumpster! What an angel!! I know I will have a heart attack someday (everyone else in my family has), but I was really hoping it wouldn't be today! Looks like I made it. Stay safe everybody.

We sure could have used that lump of ice on Christmas and Boxing days here in my part of Australia. We very nearly died of heat stroke it was so hot.
