Goldenberg's Peanut Chews.
They're made locally and I don't know if they are available in other places.
I've been an addict since childhood.

Seven-layer bars. I'm sure these are known by other names, and there are lots of variations on the theme since they're homemade.
You start with a graham-cracker crust, fill it with butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, chopped nuts, pour sweetened condensed milk over the whole mess, top it with shredded coconut, and bake the entire affair.
They are ridiculously rich, almost too sweet, certainly not healthy, but damn they're good!

Those silly no bake chocolate cookies! Peanut butter, butter, cocoa, sugar, boil it and stir in the oatmeal. Love those things.

My fave has got to be peanut butter pie on a chocolate crust with hot fudge drizzled over the top. Delish!

What is that Frango thingy? I saw it advertised, on sale, somewhere, and was tempted. It seems to be very popular.
My favorite sweet, thus far, are Harry & Davids Raspberry Shortbread cookies. The meshing of tart raspberries with shortbread cookies is perfect, and they really melt in your mouth.

I'm with Pocono... don't much like sweets.
Every now and then, I'll buy a package of those bite-size Milky Way bars. Unless the guys find it, it will last me at least six months.
I'd rather have anchovy toast, to be honest.

I'm not much on sweet stuff either, but two of my favorites are Reese's peanut butter cups and those old-fashioned peppermint sticks that melt in your mouth. Gosh, I love those!
Of course, Hershey bars with almonds aren't bad, either ....

Krs Why do I get the feeling that you don't really want to talk about sweets? That you want people to take notice of some of the more important things you have to say, but, you talk about sweets because it is simple and simple minded people understand simple minded things?

Wataru, may I ask a question?
A long time ago I was given by a Japanese nisei friend a bag of sweet candies that were wrapped in rice paper. It was so curious, so fun because you could eat the wrapper with the candy, you didn't have to take the wrapper off when you ate the candy, you could just eat the whole thing! My daughter was very young at the time and loved the whole concept.
is that considered a type of Dagashi?
very interesting web page, thanks for the link
thank you
