I am a Catholic married to a Jewish man. Tonight is the first night of Hannukah, the same as the Winter Solstice, a few days away from Christmas and Kwanza. It is also right in the middle of Ramadan Somehow, this all seems very special to me. Maybe a sign of peace and harmony in the coming age.
I have been receiving emails over the last several days from bidders who have taken the time to tell me that some little thing I had up for auction was an item that they have been searching for to make a daughter's Christmas special, or it was the sheet music they learned on as a child, or that the item made a room full of old people happy.
I am more aware tonight than ever that what I do here as a seller on auctions really can make a difference in the lives of others. It is a small thing, but it does make a difference. And this makes me feel good.
Happy Hannukah to all and may the year ahead be filled with miracles.

Hi Mimigigi, I agree - making a difference even on a small thing is a nice feeling to have. Happy Hannukah to you and yours!

Funny you should bring up what seller's do for people. I was looking for a certain cookbook my mom had that I needed to bake cookies for Christmas. My specialty cookie is in it. Well, I found it and the follow up cookbook from the same seller. I mailed of a batch of my special cookies to her yesterday (Even with all of my oven problems...)
Happy Holidays everyone! (Still slaving away with my half working toaster oven...)
