Geese, DBL..I've got a few of the old belt buckles hanging around here somewhere, maybe I'll take a shot at selling them on Ebay, like Linda, I'm going to start selling again in the New Year. I think my belt buckle and cowboy boot wearing days are long gone.. LOL

Maggie, the Tony Lama ones seem to do okay. Right now not so hot though, 5-8 bucks (the boots are looking 'biddy busy'ish when i last looked, so if youve got them - go for it)but if you just want to get rid of the buckles...why not?..you know ebay...you just never know, its so about timing sometimes....and with bareback mountain out...who knows?

kraft, some cowboy designer stuff. I had thought it was gun related and bear was trying to help me figure out who it was.

Cant believe bear is the texan he says he is and didnt tell me tony lama. Pi, too. Whatza up with that?

Glad you finally found out. I've never owned a pair Tony Lama boots. Alway wore Justins, up until I broke my leg & cant wear boots anymore.

Bear, I liked Frye Boots. Gosh, like Maggie, that was so long ago for me! But they've been pushing the western style resurgance for a while now.

Don't mean to butt in on some private conversation here, but I live in boots and Tony Lamas are crap boots anymore. Some are even made in China. An old pair of Lama black labels from 15 or 20 years ago is still a good pair of boots. Hand pegged. I've got some I wouldn't part with. Nowdays, Olathe Boots for me for off the shelf, but my working boots are White's Packers, custom made in Oregon.

Prof, Tony lama was folded into the Berkshire Hathaway corp & the family is no longer in control. Sadly now Justin boots are also owned by Berkshire Hathaway.

The old fashoned Texas quality of the original Lama & Justin/Nacona boots isnt there anymore.

You're right bear. I have some old Noconas that were my old man's, still fixable. Take a pair of recent Tony Lamas, Justins or Noconas to a shoe repair shop and ask about having them rebuilt and you'll get laughed out the door.

Ya know, profe, I'm not a psychic but I knew you would post that YOUR boots were custom made...not critisizing, just an observation that should tell ME something.

prof- I would imagine custom-made work boots are much better for your feet. Since you have a farm, I would think they should be tax-deductible.

they are tax deductible, but it's not really much of an expense. Around here I can wear out a hundred dollar pair of work books in a year, but I have a pair of White's packers that I had made 20 years ago that are still going strong. I sent them back to White's about 5 years ago and had them rebuilt for a hundred bucks, I expect them to go another 20 years. My son's feet are nearly as big as mine now, and when he gains about another 1/2 size he'll get them and I'll start wearing the new pair my wife had made for me last year full time. My first pair of White's were my old man's older pair too.

Mingo, there are two kinds of "cowboy" boots, those that are made for the dipsticks who like to dress up and line dance on Saturday nights and otherwise wouldn't know which end of a horse to feed, and those that are made for people who actually need them..those boots cost real money and are worth every penny.

I agree,
""and those that are made for people who actually need them..those boots cost real money and are worth every penny.""

Never argued otherwise.

Yes, my good boots lasted through many years of riding, fence building, barn cleaning and other chores. My trendy flashy boots I wore for horse shows wore out quickly(the western boots, not the good English boots).
