I noticed something new and I am not happy about it. My most recent feedback was for an item listed at $65. In the feedback it now shows the $65 crossed out and states, "Best Offer Price was Accepted"
Then it has a ? symbol next to it. When you click it is states, "This item was listed in fixed price format with a Best Offer option. The seller accepted a Best Offer price."
This info is unnecessary and will likely lead to more low ball offers as everyone will think I take offers all the time.

Wow, is that something new? I noticed in the past, even if Best Offer was how the item was purchased, it still showed the fixed price amount. Ebay screws up everything.
The keep calling me. Usually I do not answer, but yesterday I did & they wanted to set me up with a 15 minute consultation. I declined. I know the new rules, I just don't like them.

I got the call yesterday too. I did answer because I wanted to see if I was missing anything I should know. I wasn't. I know the new rules too - just can't follow them.

I have hated Best Offer from the start. Never used it to sell but when it is on an auction I would be stupid not to use it to buy. Every time I have used it I would have paid the asking price.

I saw this somewhere as well. I wasn't happy about it either. Like you said TMI.
At least on ebay it shows the price as the BIN until you click on it.

I just had my first International sale where an offer was made and accepted.
Our BIN price was $395 with free shipping. We would accept $300 for it with free shipping. I sold it Internationally for $250 which was a bit low for us even when we factor in our USA shipping cost would be no more than $25. So, I gave the guy a bit of a break.
He leaves me feedback and eBay shows that I sold it to him for $250. What USA buyers don't see is that the other buyer paid $116 for International shipping, for a total of $366.
Not a big deal until now. I have a USA bidder who has made offers based on my previous sale price. When I contacted them I explained why we accepted $250 and that the previous buyer actually paid considerably more for it. I can't copy and paste their response, but I did put them on my block buyer list if you know what I mean.
Nice going eBay!

No on a big item, he's not. Ebay also will charge him a fee on that shipping cost.
My FB shows offer accepted but it only shows the original price. You have to click on the item to see the true amount.
That's the good thing about taking offers - if sales are slow, you maybe willing to take less just to make the sale. I know I have.

Since Ebay charges FVF on shipping,it has lowered FVF on the item.
Yes,Paypal charges more on intl transaction.
I notice more sellers not shipping overseas, those who do ,some are using DHL and it costs over 100 dollars.

I think the proper question is "Am I charging more than my actual shipping cost".
The answer is absolutely. The box I ship this piece of art in is a double wall box. It was over $12 to purchase, plus the cost of bubblewrap, packing peanuts. I had to pay higher transaction fees, and insurance costs are all above the cost of my shipping label.
In the end, I may have made an extra $5.
But that isn't the issue. My issue is with eBay unnecessarily drawing attention to the fact that I accepted the an offer other than the Buy It Now price and the headache it creates.
Why don't you put in a reply to the Feedback on your Feedback page that reflects the fact the the Buyer paid for shipping. I feel confident that you can find the words that sound professional but let future Buyers understand that it was a different situation.

Shag,
most of us are just weekend warriors selling from home,I am always surprised you complain more than any of us,Ebay allows sellers to sell almost anything everything and they come from all corners of the world, and Ebay tries to accomodate all.
You want every situation to work in your favor, thats just not going to happen, unless you own Ebay and Ebay does everything your way.
Retail business is always going to be tedious ,you get some good customers and some trouble makers.
Of all the people, you should know best.
You did sell the item for less than the listed price, this is a fact, not a lie .
Now you have a cheap buyer who wants a lower price because he saw you accepted a lower price, make up your mind,if you dont want to sell for less, just say NO,end of the saga.
This morning I have a buyer who wants me to weigh a moustache comb as he wants to give it to his holocust survivor Polish mother as a birthday present as 'she is the apple of his eye',go figure ?
Before that,I have a geminologist /buyer who took my item to a lab to be tested and filed a nasty complaint with Ebay, and promise to stalk me forever!
But then I have an overseas buyer who made me an offer for one item and I accepted, then he went ahead and bought another similar item at full price to save money on shipping, thats nice!
I see you are no longer complaining about uploading tracking information and move on to another topic.
What's next?
Some one outsells us on grilled gorilla meat??

lost- you really need to get your head examined. half of your statements are nothing more than babbling rants that make little to no sense or have nothing to do with the topic.

well said,people should speak up.
I dont see anything wrong with Ebay showing the best offer accepted, both sellers and buyers need to know what is the price acceptable to both parties,it is part of the learning curve.

I've been thinking about this & am not sure why anyone should expect you to honor a prior deal. You can have sales in your store any time & when they are over, the prices go up. Macy's has sales & if you miss them, the price will be higher. This seems to be the same here, just because you accepted a price in the past does not guarantee you will accept that price in the future. Things change. You could have had a sale, been over stocked, etc. Now you are not. Perhaps you only have a few left of the item. No discount. There are many legitimate factors that could influence the fluctuation in sales prices.
If I have a customer that tells me they saw it cheaper else where, I say go buy it there. If they say that it was cheaper on my site before I say, should have bought it then!!
