I am a bit puzzled by a postmark on one of my postcards - it appears to be a field postmark at the time of WWI (battlefield?) - but the stamp is Swiss as is the view and the Swiss were neutral and had no battlefields. The postmark appears to be in Italian - is this a censor stamp ? The card is addressed to Lugano in the Italian part of Switzerland.

Thanks.

If Consigliori Ralphioli had to GUESS, it says: "Batallion 94 Camp Mail?"

Did the SWISS run AMBULANCE BATALLIONS during WWI, a la "A Farewell to Arms*?"

...we're still trying to decide: "Who shor JR..."

*(sorry! had a geezer brain-faht)
