Is there a way to cancel a transaction except as mutually agreed?

Last Friday I got a call from a buyer asking when I sent his postcard because the government was confiscating his mail (it had been mailed the Friday before). I said I would refund if it turned out that the postcard was lost but maybe we needed to give it a little more time as he lived in a remote part of Idaho. (I am thinking uni-bomber)

Today the guy goes ballistic and emails me (several times) that if the card does not arrive tomorrow he is calling the police. I email back that it is out of my hands because it has been mailed. I told him I am sending him a refund (mailed it today - PayPal would have been better - it's worth the $10 just to be done with this).

Now I see that the guy has purchased another card from me (blocked him now) and I really don't want to deal with him any more...is there a way for a seller to cancel a sale without buyer's consent?

I am sorry - forgot to mention that it is a CLOSED sale (store item). Thanks anyway. Guess I'd better get out of my jammies in case the police come to get me for that $10 card!

Last resort -- with all your cards, is it possible you may have misplaced it?

Comb your hair before the police come. You'll want to look nice in your mug shot.

You can report him as an unwelcome bidder. It won't cancel the sale but it will put him on record as being a nutcase and it may spare others similar grief. May.

I wonder if he is related to my current nutcase? Does!!!! he!!!! type like!!!!!!! this??????

What am I missing? Why would you refund him if the government confiscated his mail? If you mailed the refund won't they confiscate that as well?

Lady, I don't think she wants to mess with a paranoid looney.

I don't blame Neglus one bit for that, Pixia. My paranoid looney just pulled my CI. I can hardly wait for insane phone messages on top of the insane emails all over a 20 dollar item. Sheesh.

What worries me is it sounds as though Neglus' paranoid looney paid by PP but was refunded via snail mail. I hope that doesn't open a new can of looniness. Fingers crossed for you, Neglus.

"If you mailed the refund won't they confiscate that as well?"

Can't help it, this made me LOL!

No Zip - I would have refunded by PP in a flash just to be done with him! unfortunately, he paid through snail mail so had to refund same way. Police never stopped by yesterday and I haven't heard anything more from him...I'll bet he got the postcard.

It may take longer to refund but I'm glad a chargeback isn't in your future.

Well, I won't have to worry about completing this sale - buyer is now NARU (he never paid for the second transaction). Gotta wonder if it has something to do with this negative he received from another postcard seller (since my post): "email for details. very bad experience. threatening emails. unstable. avoid.". Police never did come by - got dressed for nothing LOL
