I have these four boxed redware pottery items, they almost look like you would play the shell game with them except for the string on each for hanging. They come with a paper that has both English and Korean (Asian ) writing, the descriptions for Pity Joy Anger and Pleasure and are small about 2" x 1 1/4" x 3/4"....what the heck are these things?? Thanks for any help.

I don't think they're netsukes. Those are small "people" that hung on obis.

I have seen Chinese and Japanese versions sold in airports and gift shops,the Chinese ones are made of paper mache and Japanese ones can be wood or ceramic or resin,they are masks which you can hang it on the wall ,just small items for gift giving !
