I was listing yesterday morning, and all my listing confirmations were coming through, and then suddenly stopped. Since, then, I have had no emails from eBay. I have refeshed my browser, emptied my cache, checked my junk file. I checked "my messages" a few hours ago, and there were 7 that I hadn't received, and I found I had 4 winning bids from my store, and my EOA notices from last night have not come through. My Paypal, and direct messages are arriving okay.
I have tried "live help", No help! I have tried calling eBay, and can't get to talk to anyone. Can anyone help me please? I have to be able to receive my emails, and I just don't know what to do.

Yes stonecold, I have checked that. I have just turned back my setting to a week ago because I downloaded a new Internet Explorer update, and then replied to a message and asked for the reply to be sent to me, but nothing.

Well, I am glad I am not the only one. I have often had odd invoices etc. missing, this time, there is NOTHING, I reckon I am missing about 50 emails from eBay. I have checked my preferences also, I don't know what else to do. Live help suggested I sent an email to eBay. I have done that, but I don't hold out much hope of getting anything other than a "canned" response.

No, it isn't your ISP. I was missing one end of auction notice for the last two days. A contact with Ebay gave me the usual canned message telling me it was most likely my filter. I wrote again telling them that I KNOW it is not a filter, just send my notice. Then I received the following yesterday....
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to not receiving email
notifications.
Please note we are aware that some members are experiencing such kind of

I get EOA notices from Ebay days after the auction closed. Seems to be a random happenening and I do not think it is my server.

maybedee:Thank you SO much for posting that, it is a relief to know that I am not the only one. I have kept checking this board to see if anyone else was having problems, but there was nothing. I often have the odd missing message from eBay, and that doesn't bother me, but this complete "black out" had me concerned.

I wasn't getting the EOAs at all a week or two ago, just desperate to figure out what was wrong. Then I was getting them only in plain mail, ugly little things. I went into my account, doublechecked all my preferences, and deleted and then put in my same preferences again and lo and behold I'm now getting all the notices, in html, too. Who knowssssssssssssss. But you might try that magic and see if it works for you!

Well, I just got my first email from eBay in about 20 hours. And what was it? Can you guess? My eBay bill/invoice! Now how does that one get through, when I think I have missed about 55 emails in the last 20 hours?

amber, guess what! Had 3 auctions end tonight and I have one EOA out of three. Now I need to wait for the buyers to send their addresses so I can start packing.<p>sthoemke, A good one about the monkeys pushing the buttons! Who do you suppose is sending the invoices so promptly if the monkeys are busy?

maybedee:I haven't got my EOA notices from my auctions tonight. I guess they made sure I got my bill, but I am still not getting any other messages. This is very frustating.
roadsmith: I did what you suggested and cancelled and then re-installed my email preferences, but so far it doesn't seem to have worked.

Still no emails from eBay apart from my bill/invoice and I got a message to say that they are looking into it, but that was 2 days ago. I am getting very frustrated. Does anyone know how to get someone at eBay to answer the phone? I have tried 4 numbers, and I end up waiting to speak to someone, and then get a message to go to live help, which I tried, and it was no help.

Not to excuse ebay for this latest glitch, but why do you need the EOA notice anyway? I turned off my "receive EOA notice" preference long ago. Your sales are on your "My Ebay". You just have to send an invoice to get the buyer's address to appear under "Payment Details".

neglus: I like to have the EOA notices, for one thing, they have the buyers address on them, which some of the invoices do not. If the buyer is not using Paypal, I need to get the address, and don't always get replies from buyers. I am getting NO messages from eBay at all.

"I like to have the EOA notices, for one thing, they have the buyers address on them, which some of the invoices do not"....
I have to say that 99.9999% of my invoices have the buyer's address on them as long as I manually invoice through "My Ebay" before the buyer pays or checks out.
How are you invoicing?

neglus: I am invoicing through "My eBay", but I have had 4 invoices in the last few days with no address, especially International ones. I have asked for the addresses, but so far have not had a reply from any of them, maybe they think they are phishing emails. I often need the Canadian postal code to work out the shipping.

You aren't alone - here's a thread on "technical issues" board (note thread was STARTED in 2003 but last post was today)- seems ebay knows about the problem and hasn't been able to fix it for three years so don't hold much hope that it will be fixed now: http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?threadID=2286011&start=1560

On the other hand I had old messages reappear yesterday in my ebay message center way back to Nov.19th -all of which I had answered and deleted when I received them so maybe there is a gitch somewhere

Thanks for all the help, I appreciate it. It seems that the glitch is with eBay. I downloaded the new Windows 7 update last week, and I was wondering if that was a problem, but when I took it off, it made no difference. Someone told me that the update was causing problems. Has anyone else heard that?

Yes I heard that I went ahead and let IE7 install yesterday on my PC hoping they have a better release than the one I tried back last summer. I was having problems typing in forms or boxes like our post reply box. It would skip certain letters real bad. Got rid of the IE7 back then and problem went away. Now to see if it happens again and I will dump it again if it does skip letters.
AND it looks like it just might start doing it as it has not put 2 spaces where I wanted them and left of 4 leters in just this one post. oops make that 5 I didn't correct letters above. Well crap I am going to be one unhappy camper this keeps up.

Check it out

I have to add something in here: We have Firefox and love it, BUT my problems with not getting eBay e-mails about a month ago happened months after we'd switched to Firefox.
Just a strangely, the problem seemed to heal itself after I just went into my ebay seller preferences and looked at them all, re-entered a couple, and voila, I'm getting the e-mails now. Who knows what magic actually helps?!

I finally got a reply from eBay about missing emails.
"..I understand your frustration and I am
sorry to hear about concerns regarding not receiving email messages as
usually.
There have recently been a backlog regarding some email messages, and
some messages have been sent later than usually. I understand that can
be frustrating and I am sorry about the inconvenience. That has been
resolved, but some messages may still at this time arrive later then
usually.
Just a note about email messages in general. Emails are usually fast.
However, email messages have to travel over a number of Internet routers
on their way from source to destination. Emails can sometimes be delayed
(or even lost) along the way, so if I may suggest it is a good idea to
also check in your eBay account about sold items, and to review My
Messages."
Well, I have about 70 out there wandering around in cyberspace. One of these mornings I am going to get up and find my mail box is full. I am glad it's been resolved, but if it has, where are my messages?
