Am re-thinking my strategies...Does anyone use Gallery or do they mainly search key words? Is it $.35 wasted? Just wondering what others out there think...Thanks!

As a jewelry seller I use Gallery only rarely.

I usually use Gallery with my fine sterling silver antique pieces, though, where the margins are higher.

There are two points of view concerning Gallery. Either 1) a Gallery picture convinces the potential bidder to click through to your auction, or 2) the potential bidder can tell just by looking at Gallery that it would be a waste of time to click through.

I think most sellers are optimists when it comes to this and have convinced themselves of the first view.

I guess the reason I asked is that I got a mssage from eBay saying they were unable to add a gallery image I'd used. That got me to thinking. Back in the "good old days", I seem to remember that it was relatively easy to search gallery images. I just checked eBay's home page and couldn't find any way to access the Gallery. It was a speedy and quick look and I might have missed it but began to think that a Gallery listing might just not be worth it. If it's not easy, I'll bet most shoppers don't use it. Thanks for the thoughts...anyone else want to weigh in?

You can find the gallery view on the search page of item you are searching, it is on left just above the list of items you searched for called Picture Gallery

Check it out

I recently did some auctions on about 6 like items. I didn't use the gallery on about half of them. One of my no gallery items sold very well as did one of my gallery items. I think it was more the item than whether or not it had a gallery.
I'm rethinking the gallery photos on some of my listing as well. I've always felt that if you can't make the gallery photo really stand out - you should not use it.

When store prices increased, I cut down on all extras, eBay and Vendio gallery, subtitles, 2nd category etc. I don't know if it has made a difference, it is impossible to know if it's just slow generally. I really liked the Vendio gallery, but just had to cut back on fees as much as possible. The only time I have used eBay gallery is if I have something expensive to sell, which is not very often. It amazes me how many people sell items for 0.99 with gallery etc. They have to be making a loss unless they are hiking postage costs.

Thanks, irked...found it. Still thinking that I'll not use gallery anymore except for unusual/pricy items. Probably not worth it.
