Monday I received this message in my regular email. I forwarded it to [email protected], and got the usual canned response.
Today it came in my eBay messages. I didn't sell anything to this buyer, and since I don't take Paypal he/she couldn't have paid. What's going on?
I pd. by paypal on 9/17/06 and confirmed - when can I expect my item? I thought I would have had by now. thanks

But how would it end up in my messages from eBay? I thought that was supposed to be secure.

you can contact any member by entering the little numbers in the box -

And you can contact any seller by going to one of his current auctions and asking an off-topic question. I've done that on occasion.

Smells like a phish. Check your paypal payments for 9/17. You could reply via ebay messages and ask for the item #, in case they actually bought something from you.

I've been meaning to post about this. Have any of you ever googled your ebay Id? If you have not, then you are in for a surprise. I did it this week and I had 3 pages of my feedback show up in the search.

Now I know how the spammers are targeting sellers.

BTW, it will also pull up your ME page. So if you have your email address on your ME page you can probably expect to get spammed.

The original email included my real name and my ebay user name.
I did google my user name, and it showed my current auctions. I don't see how that would be a problem, since anybody could get that by surfing eBay. I don't have an about me page, so that eliminates that angle.
