In mid-August I changed my Yahoo e-mail account from their annual-pay Premium service to just the regular free service.

Since then, I have only been receiving about 50% of my Paypal e-mail payment notices - I have to log-in to Paypal to check what payments have been made.

What do you think? Is this Yahoo's crappy intentional way to try & get people to pay for their service, by losing your e-mails?

Or is this something in the Paypal system, where payment notices are not being effectively sent out?

Anyone have any similar recent experience with this, or thoughts on it.

I have a Yahoo shop and all my shop emails are forwarded to my AOL email addr,no problem for 5 years.
Then in the last few months,no more forwarding, period.
I called many times and finally talked to the right dept which said I dont have a busienss email account set up for my Yahoo shop, thats why!!
Excuse me,since when do I need to set up a business account ??
Well,Yahoo has made some changes and screw up the Yahoo shops, thats the way Yahoo functions, everytime they make some changes, they screw up somewhere.
You can either call or email them and ask what is going on,good luck!

Your problem is with PayPal, not Yahoo. Paypal is famous for not sending out "you have money" e-mails. I use Yahoo and the only problem you may have is the e-mail may end up in the spam file. If that happens, then you simply click the "not spam" button and it learns that it is legite. If it is not in either place, it was PayPal that didn't send the e-mail.

What did you expect for free?

Kids these days.

I have been warning people about free email services for years, but free is to people as catnip is to fur slugs.

For all those who say "Yahoo never lost any of my email" I ask you: How would you know, if you never received it?

Short answer: You cannot depend on either Yahoo mail or PayPal mail (or any other kind of mail), so you must log in to your PayPal account to process payments if you want to be sure of seeing them all.

Yep, learned my lesson a long time ago. I check my PayPal account at least once a day. I have learned to not depend on getting PayPal notices. They did NOT send me payment notices for two items yesterday but did send them for 14 others. I trust PayPal email payment notifications about as far as I can throw them and that ain't far folks.

I set my Paypal options so that email notices are not delivered. I don't need that stuff cluttering my inbox!

I download my PayPal payments when I get ready to ship - has all the information I need. PayPal has the option to download data from last download making it impossible to miss a payment.

I then use Mail Merge in Word to print packing slips and envelopes (or labels) - a HUGE timesaver and much more accurate than any other system I've tried.
