All day yesterday I had 20 items with bids, nothing closing, no new bids. Discouraging enough but when I woke up this morning, I had 19 items with bids, nothing closed. For the life of me, I can't figure out what happened to the missing bid. The total number of auctions remains the same. I checked My Messages in eBay and there is no notification of a retracted bid - they would notify me, wouldn't they?

Sounds like ebay gremlins hard at work again.

One of the bidders problably got NARU'd. I don't think ebay would notify you if that's the case.

Well I'll be durned, you're right! I figured out it's an item ending today with no bids, checking bidding history, I see one bid was cancelled due to bidder getting NARU'd. Wonder what they did? One month old ID - 6 feedback - no negs.
