I have an item that will close Sunday night and was asked if book came with the widget. Duh Item title and the description plainly says you get the box the book and the widget at least 2 different times in description. I just wonder if people actually even read the titles much less the descriptions.
Me--being the nice guy I am just answered yes you get the book widget and original box. LOL I really wanted to say "No you dumb $h*&, you get nothing in the picture and less of what is stated in the description." But I held my tongue-fingers.

ASAQ: Is this necklace large - I don't wear large jewelry
Item title: Big-Bold Beaded Necklace
ASAQ: Where is my item? I paid for item as soon as auction ended
Answer: You paid for item on June 2nd - it is now June 3rd I am shipping item today. I wanted to tell them that my Magic Wand isn't working right now but I didn't.
ASAQ: I received the earrings today and they are bluish-green. You stated in the description that they were Teal. I want a refund
Answer: This one I didn't even fool with - I just had them return the items and sent a refund. There is a level of stupid that I just can't deal with.
I met a lady sometime ago who was wearing a t-shirt that I loved. It said: "Unfortunately there are levels of Stupid that just can't be cured!!"
We as Sellers need that as our motto.

Past auction ASAQ - Will you be relisting this purse - I collect these but I am blind so I want to send the auction to my friend who helps me with all my collectible? Did I miss something here?

Question; I would like to buy that garden cultivator($3 item). I don't need the handle, can I buy the rest for a reduced price?
Answer: SURE thing, there is a high demand for broken off handles...I won't have any problems selling that on eBay!!!

Yeah, you missed something, the same thing I missed. If they were blind how did they find your listing in the first place?

Are you guys not aware that there are talking browsers for the blind?
That's one reason why you need to write an information-packed description for your item. The buyer may not be able to see your pictures clearly or at all.

To tell you the truth fLuff I didn't even think about that possibility. Not being blind (at least not yet) I never really gave it much mind. I do try to have very good item descriptions but this is a good reason to make them even better. Thanks for pointing that out.

Fluffy
I was aware of talking browsers for the blind
but I was not aware that the blind would have a collection of vintage purses.
Maybe she enjoys carrying them??

D./ladyjewels,
I started thinking about your vintage purses comment, having some myself, and ended up wondering if we are shortchanging the tactile aspect in our descriptions.
Here's an example from someone's auction. This seller believe she should get $450 for this purse, yet this is the sum of her description (along with two blurry pictures, so potential bidders might as well be sight-impaired, as it won't make any difference):
I am pleased to list what I believe to be a very old Bakelite Purse. It is unmarked . I have done intense research on the purse and have found only one simular to to on another sight listed for 450.00 The purse is in great shape I find only one blemish. It measures approximately 8" long and 4 " wide. It has screws that attach the handle to the purse and rivets that attach the other pieces. If you have any questions please ask. I will do my best to answer promptly, honestly, and to the best of my knowledge. Thank you and Happy bidding!!
Would this be better?

And here we have a vintage purse made from early plastic. I believe the rope twist hoop-style handle is Lucite. There is one handle rather than two, and it is securely attached to the purse's flat lid with metal screws that are free of corrosion or wear. The handle is slightly warm to the touch. The lid itself is oval and translucent, with a striking molded starburst pattern radiating from the center. If you run your finger along the lid you can feel the contours of the molding. The lid is joined to the purse body with a single large 2 inch long brass hinge, with no corrosion or wear. There is a catch in front made of the same brass material; it holds the purse closed securely.
The body of the purse, made of a white pearlized plastic smooth and cool to the touch, is an oval cylinder with a flat bottom, measuring about 8 inches long, 4 inches deep and 4 inches high. We have examined this purse completely and found only one minor blemish: a shallow scratch near the base of the purse on the left side. If you run your fingernail over it, you can feel it but it is virtually unnoticeable to the naked eye.
If you know early plastic you know that cracks tend to appear around drilled holes where fittings are attached. However, there is no such damage on this purse. Bid now! Don't let this one get away.

I often refer to the heft of a particular piece of jewelry but have been neglecting other tactile aspects.

Well I got my dumbest question to date --today
Person writes:
Are U ON?
I write back :
On what?
They write back:
Never mind I found one.
I think they were feeling around for something they might could get by having you close the auction early. Just weird, or they are ON crack.

Two newbies:
First newbie asked if they could buy my BIN item for the BIN price. I actually had to teach the person how to buy it now.
Second newbie: What magizine is it from and what does the full page Hires ad look like??
I responded politely but in all my listings the source is listed and the Hires ad was also in the listing.
They just don't read or think.

I occasionally list round tablecloths (with the word "round" in the title) and in the narrative give the measurement, such as "72 inch diameter". Several times I've been
asked "but what does it measure from top to bottom?" Always good for a laugh.

Shop, I guess you could write back about 1/32" thick. LOL that is what I would think if they wanted to know measurement of top to bottom LOL == kidding but you are right good for a laugh.
I have been guilty of asking dumb questions too. For instance I wanted a widget once and for life of me could not find where they shipping was stated, I looked at all the usual places no cigar. Well I write and ask about it and immediately find in very small print in a table way off to the side the shipping and policy. I felt like a real dumba$$ but it was sort of out of the norm on a very busy auction page. The jerk never answered so I bid elswhere. This is why I answer all questions no matter how dumb we think they are.
