Why focus on the negative when you can focus on the positive?
I LOVE the extra cash I make
I love to hear when a buyer received exactly what they've been looking for.
I LOVE the newbies who pay me too much because they haven't learned how to shop eBay yet and my auction was the only one listed that had pictures you could actually see.
I Love seeing the stacks of "treasures" in my garage grow smaller.
I Love having space for new projects.
I like most of the people I communicate with.
I like being able to tell people how much work eBay really is and then watching that little "I'm going to get rich quick" bubble pop over their head. (Ok, maybe that is not very nice of me, but it is fun to do)
I like the way my husband gets excited when I have an auction that goes particularly well. It helps him tolerate the mess in the garage much better.
I like hearing my MIL tell her friends how I sold her yada-yada for more than she paid for it in 1948. She seriously thinks I'm a genius, bless her heart.
and drum roll please, I like the people on the RT. This is the only web board I visit regularly.

You're right of course - I DO love ebay too. Lately I have been "out of sorts" because I don't think ebay is working right and I want them to "fix" it...yesterday!
I love that EVERY DAY is casual Friday (and by casual I mean jammies ALL DAY if I feel like it!
I love the exposure my postcards get - where else can you find a world-wide market like this? How else could someone in Idaho find a photo postcard (from a seller in Minnesota) of his/her great grandfather in 1906 when he went to California from Missouri to seek his fortune??
I love the thrill when my auctions end well
I love researching my material. I love writing titles.
I love waking up to find someone has been shopping in my store and purchased a bunch of items WHILE I SLEPT!!!
And OF COURSE I LOVE the EO board here at Vendio and the little community we have here (though not so wild about Google picking up everything we say)

I like the extra cash and I like 99.9% of my customers! If it weren't for eBay, I wouldn't have met Marcia (estatesalestuff) or wouldn't have had the opportunity to converse with everyone on this board.
Of course, I probably wouldn't have 1/2 of the physical headaches I have now if eBay. . . .

I too like eBay because of the people I 'meet', both buyers and here on the forum. It has been a lot of fun learning what sells and what doesn't and waking up to big (or little) surprises in the bidding overnight. I love going to auctions and yard sales and estate sales and being able to call it 'working'. I have also met a lot of nice people on the auction 'circut' who have helped me or made me laugh along the way. And, I even like to pack things for shipping (no I am not a newby, I have been doing this since 1998).

I love selling on ebay and it gives my wife something to do with packing, she is a genius at it.
Love meeting all the new people through ebay even if it is just for a short time.
Learn so much doing research and amazed at the things that will sell.
Appreciate the hunt and fun that goes into it weather it is garage sale, estate or auctions. Meet the best people at these gatherings.
Am addicted to the board here because of all the fun and informative threads here at Vendio. It is getting to where I come here before going to ebay just to see what is happening. You guys and gals are priceless. Thanks one and all.
& I have to agree it keeps me off the highway wasting gas when not out finding treasures.
One main thing Ebay and this board has done is keep me sane by putting my brain in gear.

Although I made 10x as much in the non-eBay world I appreciate:
I can surf eBay all day without reprisal
I get to wallow in postcards (my passion)
I make someone's day, rather frequently, by connecting them with a postcard that holds special memories.
I can schedule around my shared custody for my 10 year old. We have a lot of fun together!

I love the idea of adding to, completing or starting a collection for someone who really appreciates the antique or collectible that I sold them.
I love the fact that I have saved an item which could have been abused or tossed and made sure that it found a great new home.
I love that I can set my own goals and achieve them if I work hard.
I love that I can get up in the middle of the night and work for a few hours and then sleep in the next morning.
I love this board to come for help or to give help.
I love shopping for treasures most of all.
I love LtRay for starting this post as I was feeling pretty negative about ebay/paypal today.

Thank You LadyJ. That was exactly why I started the thread. It is all too easy to get bogged down and overwhelmed when we focus on the negative.
When the going gets tough, we need to stop and focus on the positive for a while and regain our strength.
Life is like a beautiful piece of brilliant cut glass. By its nature, hand cut glass will have a flaw. If we spend all of our time looking for the flaw and then focus on the flaw, we will miss the awe of the craftsmanship that went into the piece and never see the beautiful colors as the light shines through the glass.
