Why would a customer open a pay pal complaint 25 days after the purchase but never contact you they are dissatisfied with your item?

My response at this point is please return the item for a refund.

I also noticed the purchaser does not pay a lot for the items they are collecting, in fact they down right steal some items from under educated sellers. My purchaser paid a lot of money plus $50 range for the item I sold him. What should I expect out of this transaction?

He probably gets all his items for free this way. Well maybe not but there are those out there. Did they email you or did they reply to your response to send item back? I think they have to send it back if you offered that but don't think Paypal cares wone way or other cause they are going to make money off you on their chargeback. I think they need to have a LOT better policy with this as the seller sure gets screwed over and they are ones making Paypal their money. But guess you know answer to that they don't care.....

Here's a wild guess - He's used to paying $10 for a $50 item. He thinks that your $50 item is worth $250 and is disappointed when he receives it.

You know the strange thing is my customers (who mostly pay by bank transfer) hardly ever complain. If they do, well, I offer a 100% no questions refund. Return the item at your expense in saleable condition and I'll refund in full.

Years ago when I accepted PayPal, I received numerous minor complaints from those customer so I basically stopped accepting it, and noticed that I had a dramatic fall off in complaints to almost zero... YMMV

Many Ebay bidders try to resell the items they won on Ebay, either in their own brick and mortar store or their own website or back on Ebay.
It is possible that after 25 days, the item is not going to be sold,so why not get his money back and buy something else??
Someone did that to me once ,she said she was happy to have these items, then 30 days later she is not happy, and she filed complaint with Paypal.
Since these are MIB items ,I told Paypal I cannot accept return after being in the hands of a retail customer for 30 days, any shelf sitting, scuffling of the bottom mean I cannot resell them as mint in box and I would lose money marking them down as returns.
I won.

Your return policy has to be fully stated in the item description, along with: "the placement of an order, will indicate your acceptance of these terms."

Also print your policy on your invoice, or another paper. That way, your customer is reminded what he has agreed to.

Credit cards will back you, PayPal should also do so. If they are reluctant - go to small claims against them. Hwahwa could advise you as he is fresh from small claims proceedings.

As obvious as it is, do not hesitate to also state that the item must be returned before a refund is given.

Paypal probably won't give him a refund if he has the item, they claim they don't get involved in a dispute like this. What did he claim when he filed?

A few things you have not included in your statements that we need to know.

1) Was this persons address confirmed or unconfirmed?

2) Did you send it with tracking or delivery confirmation?

3) Was is 25 days after payment or 25 days after delivery?

4) How long was it from the time he/she paid till the time you shipped?

5) Was this person in a hurry to have you ship?
