I got a phone call direct from Andale this morning. The sales guy can barely speak good English, and tried to sell me to switch to Andale claiming their services were better and cheaper. When I told him how much it cost me for 3000 listings on Vendio he told me "I" must be wrong! Then he went on to say that their gallery was better because it never broke down?????I told him that I have never had a problem with the Vendio gallery. Then he told me that Vendio has copies every service that Andale offers???? Again...I informed him that Vendio has offered listing services much longer than Andale....and he told me that Andale has offered listing services since 1999??? It was an interesting call....and "NO" I am not switiching!

He called me for months on end. After about 3 or 4 months he quit calling. Thank goodness. I also had a difficult time understanding him.

How do they get your phone numbers? Did you use Andale in the past?

If you are signed up on the "do not call list", and you have not done business with them in the past 18 months, it is illegal for them to be calling you with a sales pitch. Turn them in to the FTC.

That's a good question...because they called me at my home phone number...while I only have my business line listed with Vendio or E-Bay. I have never used Andale in the past. I think it is bad business practice to bad-mouth your competition in order to get more business. If this salesman could have convinced me that Andale was better...I would have listened...but he just kept pointing out Andale features that I already have with Vendio. Then he asked me what I was paying per month for Vendio...and when I told him...he told me I must be wrong! MMMMMMMM!

You had a hard time understanding him!
You should have pushed #1 for English.

Yes Mr Broken English...He called me a few months ago regarding a seldom used id, I thought it was odd, and did wonder where he got my #. He insisted that he could make my life so much easier if I went with them. I've listed less than 10 items THIS YEAR on that ID. I don't need any management tools for that one. Never does call about the ID I list 100's of auctions a month on ????

Of course you couldn't understand him. Most of these call centers are in India where the labor is cheap. I got a solicitation call once and I knew it was someone located in India. I said once they bring their call center back to America where it belongs, I might be interested in what they have to say. Until then, don't call me again. The guy abruptly hung up.

Whenever I get an Abu from the Quiki-Mart on the phone, I give it to Ralphie who immediately starts reciting:

Actually, I think Andale is owned by an Indian family. The call may still have been 'local' within the USA.

But yeah, he's called me many times over the years, and I always end up hanging up on him.

I have NEVER heard more than a handful of good reports about that company. I'd say they have a 95% complaint-to-praise ratio in any discussion where they are brought up.

replay... make that 96%

My brief dealings with them were not good, nor were they as brief as I wanted them to be (they kept putting the Andale name and some boilerplate in my auctions for a while).
