Beady:

Ralphie-N-I fell into that trap about 2 years ago -- mainly with VD advertisers, no less

Then, one day, Ralphie had an epiphany while chewing his favorite CAT toy:

"Yo! Daddy! If everybody is allowed to sell this stuff, then everybody is selling da same junk which means that nobody is gonna sell anything?"

Oi!Vey! Dat's one meschuga-doggy! But, if ya think about it LOGICALLY, what he says is TRUE!

DON'T WASTE YER TIME & MONEY! Especially on anybody that makes ya pay a "membership" (AKA: proctological) fee!

There ain't no shortcut to fame & fortune -- although Ralphie has made quite a name fur himself amongst conny-sewers of MONKEY-PORN!

A good rule of thumb if you plan to be on Ebay more than a couple of months and don't have a lucky rabbit's foot: Never list an item that you do not have in your immediate physical possession. This includes not only drop shippers, but consignment sales and heirlooms for great aunt Matilda.

Sure, but you'd be selling the same exact item as a hundred other sellers.

I'm finding all of this out rather quickly. I'm a SAHM who used to be a professional. I'm really itch'n to start my eBay business (which I've done with things from around our house). But what happens when my rooms are bare?

I'm trying to think of what the heck I can make to sell. Everything I know how to make (quilts, wreaths...) don't really sell for much on eBay when you take into consideration the amount of time and effort that's put into those types of projects.

I'm heading out the door now to hit some yard sales!!

Wish me luck!

Seems like people start dropping acronyms all over the internet and you're just supposed to know what they mean? I remember when twelvepole said somebody was a POS on the rt and at least 3 different people finally decided to ask what is that? (I didnt know either, but figured whatever it was it wasnt nice!) LOL!!!>>>>>>

I'm glad I'm not the only one not getting all the acronyms. I'm new to these boards and have been afraid to ask...I was embarassed when I asked what an FLD (Free Listing Day) was the other day, then figured it out about 10 mintues later. It's hard to learn a new language!

I'm sorry.

I get crazy with this stuff too. I just "ass"umed that SAHM was a given. (It is to ME, anyway.)

Sometimes, even when I can figure out what the acronyms mean, I still have a hard time putting practical application knowledge to them.

BTW folks, I got a nice depression glass mixing bowl yard selling today.

I'll post when I have a minute to take a picture and go through the contortions. Time is precious because I AM a SAHM after all!!!!

mandaray3, it always looks obvious after somebody has typed it out in full, but not usually when you're first looking at it.
