Ebay is sending me emails on closed auctions. Ebay is sending my buyers notices on winning auctions. Vendio is sending me congratulation notices. Vendio is sending my buyers congratulation notices.

Vendio doesn't include the shipping charges when I try to create a packing slip. Other Vendio packing slips don't include the buyer's addresses....

Basically, folks, I'm having a hard time sorting out who bought what, who GETS what, what goes where, and why I'm even here.

PLEASE give me your "seasoned" and educated help with this. (PRETTY PLEASE!)

HELP!

ok - first of all CALM DOWN! I sold 1000 items last month and, except for being bogged down in shipping, have no trouble keeping it all straight.

Here's what I do:
1)Never read the ebay, vendio and PayPal emails - I delete them as they arrive.
2) I go right to the source for my information.
3) "my Ebay" tells you the items you have sold. I send invoices every morning from "My eBay"
4) i do not use Vendio checkout.
5) When I am ready to ship, I sign into my PayPal account and pull the data right from there (you can print packing slips, postage etc right there - I don't use those services but copy and paste my information in a Word Document).
6) after you process a payment in PayPal, "file" the transaction. Only transactions you have not yet processed will appear then.
7) I religiously update Vendio post-sale starting with step "3" (item paid). I have Vendio set up to receive automatic feed from PayPal when pymts are received. I have to manually update mailed payments and payments for more than one item.

Wow aren't you the organized one???
Sounds good - I've been doing this awhile but I'm with beedo now as lately I don't know where to go to get what information. Vendio does my shipping calculation so I can't get rid of them if the item weights over a pound How do you handle that - I can't estimate because I live in Florida so I would always be over charging or under charging for shipping.
Do you revise everything after it's launched - that sounds like more work than dealing with the different check outs.
Love the filing away in Paypal. I'm going to steal that idea. I already use them for my postage and labels.

Thanks, neglus! Taking a deep breath and regrouping thanks to your reply...

-Delete the emails, CHECK.

-Will go to PayPal for address/pricing information, CHECK.

-Then "File" PayPal transactions, CHECK.

I'm assuming that when you say, "I'm set up to receive automatic feed from PayPal when pymts are received" you are talking about the 123456... "in boxes." Mine come up that way too (if I got what you're referring to right) so, I think, I'm set up there.

UNDER THE CATAGORY OF REALLY STUPID AND BASIC QUESTIONS:
-What labels do you use?
-Where do you get your boxes?
-Where did you get you scale?

I am forever floored at how generous y'all (sorry, I'm in Kentucky) are with your help to my very basic questions.

From the title I thought Yikes I'm haveing the same !&*^$&*)^()@&^*(^#)(* dAY

I sell no where near what Neglus does but pretty much do the same thing. Heck for the most of month of Febuary I didn't even check my email. My ebay and paypal pretty much sum every thing up.

Take a deep breath, now run over to MYEbay and see what sold

Unfortunately, I'm one of those folks that has to understand EVERYTHING and if I don't, then life sucks. (MAN I wish I wasn't like that!)

Additionally, in an more unfortunate way, if I don't understand everything about how something works or operates, I CAN'T DO IT, I'm lost.

Try being me sometime.... Sometimes it's a blast cuz I KNOW A LOT OF STUFF... Other times it bites cuz I don't know anything....

Ah me!

Edited because sometimes I don't know an "a" from an "e." Bummer...

Congrats to you neglus. You must be really organized. If I had those numbers I think printing anything is out as you would use up a cartridge every day.

My small selling I print eBays EOA winning notices only and delete the rest. I only print 1 sheet and one sheet only not the whole notice as the 2nd sheet has nothing on it of value. I send out eBay invoices. When my buyer pays or tells me they are paying I print that on the other side of the eBay notice. The reason then I can print my letter right away that I use for my invoice as it has all necessary information. In the end I have only 1 printed sheet for buyer. If I get busier then I will have to change.

You must have something checked in Vendio that you need to uncheck, that is if you don't want a notice from Vendio. But since I don't use Vendio for anything else but photo service I don't know. Maybe someone can help you with that.

Libra,

I was thinking the same thing about the unchecked thing. It's been a while since I've done it, but I'm sure there are places in ebay and probably vendio where you can limit what type of notices you want to receive from them.

Beedo4u2 - What I would do is go to either the URL posted below and ask your question or email Vendio and ask them how to turn their notices off. You can do that by clicking help in the upper right corner and there is a mail box to check and you can send them an email. Or go to the url below and ask your question. They are very helpful. I think the URL is a faster answer.

http://www.vendio.com/mesg/list.html?num=36

Getting all that email in your mail box is really hard to decipher.

Good Luck

We all have different ways of handling our order process.

Here is a day in the life of my business

First off CHANGE YOUR EBAY SETTINGS TO NO EMAILS TO YOU!!!

CHANGE YOUR VENDIO SETTINGS TO NO EMAILS TO YOU!!!

If you are going to run a full time business or at least a part-time one that you manage daily you don't need a friggin a dozen emails for every damned thing someone buys from you. Right?

Mental chaos reduction leading to confusion 50%

Print all invoices from the checkout that are paid by paypal.

Lay out all paid invoices on a table with the corresponding products.

Instead of a desk I custom built a 3x7 foot table with room for everything.

I have a pelouze digital scale directly to my left about 12 inches away.

On a shelf on the wall placed just above my monitor I have 2 printers. 1 laser for invoices and one ink jet for shipping labels.

I use ENDICIA for shipping packages. In my inkjet I have 4 label sheets cut in half vertically after 10 or so packages I take the half used label strips and put them back in the inkjet to use the other side.

Pack each order, weigh the package copy/paste the address into endicia, print label.

With 2 browsers open view ALL PAID VENDIO INVOICES AND A PAYPAL SCREEN. Visually match the invoices and paid paypals CLICK FILE ON THE PAYPALS AND CLICK SHIPPED ON THE INVOICES AT ROUGHLY THE SAME TIME.

Look at non-checkout paypal payments print invoices from the paypal screen. Pack the order, weigh it, label it . CLICK FILE ON PAYPAL AND CLICK PAID/SHIPPED ON THE ITEM SOLD PAGE ON VENDIO AT ROUGHLY THE SAME TIME.

I also take visa/mc/disc on my checkout so I follow the same procedures basically for them next.

For checkouts indicated with a money order I PRINT THE INVOICE LAY THE PRODUCTS ON TOP AND WAIT. I have ample space and my products are relatively small also I NEVER FORGET WHO TO FILE NPB ON if I have to see those items daily.

I do the same thing later in the afternoon and do as much same day shipping as physically possible.

I use Marketworks but on Vendio it should work the same way.

Hope this different perspective helps. Try a mix of everyones processes and create a better system for yourself.

P.S. The only time I ever log into MY EBAY is to leave feedback and finalize NPB's

Thanks LovePotions - I thought i HAD turned off everything I could turn off!! I was receiving ebay EOA and PP payment notifications but have turned them off now. Whew!! Somedays I would open email to find over 100 new emails (and I don't get any spam!)

Beedo and others - I only sell postcards so my shipping is a whole lot easier than yours! I print addresses right on my mailing envelopes (so no labels) and use stamps because postcard collectors like stamps too so I don't print postage. My sales usually are under $10 so I don't do DC or insurance. I don't have to weigh most of my shipments.

You can turn off the Vendio notices you receive in "My Account"->My Account: Post Sale Management Preferences-> Winning Bidder Notification.

You can turn "on" the Vendio PayPal Instant Payment Notification ("IPN" at My Account: Post-Sale Acceleration (Beedo - that is how you set up to get automatic feed of PayPal payment information to Vendio)

Neglus: Just curious. Do stamp collectors want current stamps? Why? Can't they just get them at the P.O.? Or do they want cancelled stamps and from a lot of different cities?
