From what I can tell, VD-O sent a WBN (I'm assuming cuz there was a little check mark in that box). What do I need to do now? Do I "send an invoice" via eBay or VD-O?

Please respond as though I'm clueless and give me a step-by-step here. Sorry!

THANKS!

The WBN that gets sent out includes a link to check out via Vendio Checkout. However, if you do not use Vendio Checkout (I don't), then you may want to send an invoice through Ebay. Personally, I don't send out invoices unless they are a newbie bidder. Most bid on several items at once and then let me know when they are done. I then send them a combined invoice with discounted shipping.

Thanks, Diane!

I sent an invoice via eBay.

This was my very first eBay sell and I know that I've asked a bunch of stupid questions but I'd rather ask and do it right than not and do it like glassgrl. (JUST KIDDING!!!!!)

Everybopdy has their own way of doing things. I do not use Vendio WBN, I send an invoice through eBay. There is a space where you can put in a message with any pertinent info you might want to add.

I know you didn't ask for a critique of your auctions, but, since you offer buyers the option of paying by MO or PC, your 5 day limit to receive pmnt seems a bit short.

Max...You stole it from me. I like the refinements and polishing of the rough edges you did. Now, I'm gonna steal it back

No problem, Beedo. We have all been new sellers at one time. We're here to answer your questions. You WILL make mistakes along the line, but hopefully, you will use our experience to help you to minimize them.

Ok, thank goodness - I was just checking to make sure you had a sense of humor.

Quote: "I can change a diaper blindfolded - but wouldn't want to - and I can write killer poetry, sell houses - licensed Realtor - assist an accident victim - EMT - and make gourmet meals....

Wait - if you are a licensed Realtor and you haven't figured out how to use the VD system....? How many houses have you sold? Would I want you to sell my house?

Seriously - if you use VD then it's very easy. You just go through the steps - send a winning bidder notice? Check or uncheck. I always have a copy of the WBN sent to me so that I KNOW it went out. If it sent the WBN (winning bidder notice - from here on in it's WBN) then you just sit back and wait for the money to come rolling in.

Well I WAS going to say that SalGal teaches a class on how to sell on Ebay..........

Oh - you might want to think about adding a TOS - Terms of Service to your VD/My Account/Custom Listing Text so that you don't have to write the basics in all your auctions...ie - You Bid - You Win - You Pay - I Ship etc.

Feel free to look at my auctions and steal anything you want...glassgrl IS my real Ebay ID - or ONE of them....

PS congratulations on your first sell!

glassgrl -- Now you are the resident computer expert. However, for those of us who are not, VD .... ahem ... the PROGRAM (for classic's benefit) can be quite confusing at first!

I have to agree with bizzy (being the newbie that I am!).

I'm going to have to sleep on everything that you said, glassgrl (aka, hallofhilaritygrl) to figure out what you meant by all that. SPEAK ENGLISH, WOMAN!

P.S. Thanks for the congrats!

Edited to add that I'm torn between wanting to be you when I grow up, or not wanting to be you, or just not growing up. What do you think?

Beedo: Be sure to keep meticulous records, however you choose to do that. I sell one-of-a-kind collectibles and books, and when one is selling more than 5 or 10 items a week, it's very easy to lose track of where you are in the sale, in the tracking of the various steps.

For my sales, I print the first page of the item, attach a small list of steps to complete the auction, and check them off as things are done. That way I always know where we stand. It's saved my life more than once, as a seller. "Did I really ship that already? When did payment come in?" (The latter when someone asks where his item is, and I can see that I got payment 2 days ago for media mail and it's just been mailed out, LOL.)

Others here have fully automated their records, which works well for them. Whatever floats your boat--but you have to be meticulous and you have to care about details, or you will have some problems down the road. Good luck!

I'm getting that if I venture into this thing (as deeply as I'd like to) that there's a whole lot that I don't know that I don't know.

Ah, me!

I so greatly appreciate the CONSTRUCTIVE feedback to my request (slight intended, gg! !).

You guys ROCK!

BTW and FYI (and other 3-capped-letter-things), "beedo" means "Love!" Our (then) 4yo foster daughter (4 years ago) clued us in on that little-known fact.

Just thought you should know should someone say that to you....

BEEDO!
