A consignor of mine requested that I make copies onto a CD of some of the auctions I have run for him. FWIW, he thinks that they were really well done; I am blushing, but he is really too kind.

Anyway... how do I get html from eBay onto a CD? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Claude

I am not too smart about this, but can you download them into a file, say in Word & then put them on a CD Rom? If you don't have a RW Drive then there is no way to do it.

Thanks Sanmar; I tried that, and it doesn't look anything like the original listing.

I can copy the source into an html file, but that will only work while the links (e.g., photos) are still valid.

Writing the CD isn't a problem, it's getting it into a file that is my problem now.

One work around would be to "Print Screen" several views of the auction and then place them into a Word doc.

I know you might not be thinking about this, but what does your consignor want to do with them? If you do as I suggest, they can see what the auction looked like, but won't be able to grab the text and images and do it all themselves -- without you in the picture.... Just something to think about.

I thought about the print screen approach... I don't know if I can do it sufficiently well... maybe I'll try.

I'm not worried about what my consignor intends to do. Beyond his being an honorable person, what would he want to do with an auction for an item that has already been sold?

Save it into a Front Page document, then you get the best of both worlds. You get the html and the actual view of the auction. I personally write all of my auctions with Front Page, then copy and paste the html into the ebay listing page.
